I heard from Dr. Bronner customer service. I made a $60 donation on 12/20/12, & I got an email saying that the FMV of my perk received (green tea combo) was $26.00. I was given a link to a part of their website, which went into detail about the FMV (but oddly listed different parks). I still think they & indiegogo could do a better job making sure this info is presented up-front and on the donation receipts to all donors. The link is: http://drbronner.com/indiegogo-terms-and-conditions.html

To those who did not receive your perks, Dr. Bronner’s did you a favor, if you itemize your taxes. Assuming the gifts are made to a 501©3 organization (which customer service indicated to me that this was the case), then your gifts should fully tax deductible. So them not sending you your perks was actually doing you a favor, if you itemize your taxes.

I did receive my perks fine, but I have issues with the general unresponsiveness of Ryan Fletcher & Dr. Bronner’s customer service: 1) The solicitation & receipt needs to clearly state something to the effect that financial gifts are made to a 501©3 & such gifts are tax deductible to extent allowed by law. 2) With perks sent, you need tell donors the fair market value (FMV) of said perks. For we who itemize our U.S. taxes, we should deduct FMV from our donation, per IRS rules.

Still have not recieved perks (soap, lip balm) and have tried to get ahold of you three or four times. I’ve waited patiently and it is now the end of march.

Infuriatingly I got another generic ‘thank you’ email from Dr. Bronner’s via indiegogo but am still yet to receive ANY response to the 10+ enquiries made re. the perks I was promised when donating to this campaign. I can only assume I’m being deliberately ignored in the hope that I’ll eventually give up & go away! It seems you got what you wanted from me i.e. $110, & have no intention on fulfilling your end of the deal. I’ve a new suggestion for a company slogan “Dr. Bronner’s – Don’t bother!”
