Hi, we are ex-students, current students and co-workers of jr. high math teacher, Ms. Cathy Gilbreath who has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. We're from a small town in West Texas and the nearest hospital to treat her is 120 miles away. Two weeks before Thanksgiving Cathy was in a car accident that required 10 hours of surgery to her neck and back. She is still in the hospital today. Even with her insurance, her medical bills would be unmanagable.
Cathy has been involved with our school for 20+ years and has had an impact on many students' lives. She is the kind of teacher who would tutor ex-students for free for their college math courses.
Your contribution would go toward her medical bills and help lift a stressful burden so she can concentrate on getting well. We are asking for what will be about a quarter of her bills.
Your contribution will be making a difference to a teacher's life and the education of her students. For each contribution you will be sent a 'Thank You' and you can return here to this site to hear about Cathy's recovery.
Good math teachers are hard to find, so we need to take care of the ones we've got.
