Our campaign is in the home stretch! We're blown away by the generosity and support from everyone who has contributed. To thank you, and make one final push, we've designed an additional 12" X 12" screen print that we are giving to everyone that has backed us if we can get past the $5,000 mark. So spread the word one last time and help us go out with a bang.
The World Needs More Bombs.
There's a lot of bad in the world, but it doesn’t stand a chance against the power of good. We want to give the good a little extra oomph by hijacking a symbol of conflict, war, terror, pain and destruction and turning it into a beacon of cooperation, peace, love, hope and change. Let's make the world a happier place, one bomb at a time.
What We Do:
We make t-shirts (and stickers and prints). We think our designs make a statement about who you are and what you believe in. They also say you look awesome and have impeccable taste. So, it's pretty much the total package.
Here are a few of the HappyBombs we’ve already designed that represent causes we plan to support in our inaugural year:
The Original HappyBomb line:
The WaterBomb line:
The DropletBomb line:
The PencilBomb line:
How It Works:
Step one: We identify a worthy cause.
Step two: We design a HappyBomb inspired by that cause.
Step three: We give half the profits to an innovative charity dedicated to that cause.
To start out, every month we will be supporting a different cause by launching a new line of HappyBombs (T-shirts, stickers, prints) inspired by their mission. Then using our social channels, we will dedicate the entire month to raising awareness and hopefully money to support their work.
What We Believe:
We believe in sharing. That's why our plan to open up our design process to anyone who wants to be involved. If you submit a design and we use it, you'll get full credit on our site, a link back to your portfolio and a share from our portion of the profits. If all goes according to plan (twists his mustache), there will be plenty to go around.
We believe in the power of positivity. Every action we take and decision we make will be positive. That means, whenever possible, we will work with socially conscious companies like Social Imprints who use environmentally friendly materials and printing practices. And of course, all our products will be made right here in the USA.
We believe in aid not ads. To ensure that we are giving as much as we possibly can to every cause, we will not be paying for media. Instead, we will be relying on the power of social media and (fingers crossed) the passion of our supporters to spread the word.
Who We Are:
We used to work together at an advertising agency in Boston. We spent our days (and nights) thinking up new ways to build our clients’ businesses. It was fun. And we were good at it. But we felt like something was missing. Then it clicked. We realized all of our time and energy was being devoted to building their dreams, not ours.
And Boom. HappyBombs was born.
Okay, so it wasn’t that simple. We’ve actually spent many nights and weekends over the last three years talking, researching, designing, refining, finding a printer, finding the perfect t-shirt, filling out paperwork, building a website, more refining, more designing and here we are. Locked, loaded, and ready to launch this company. Almost.
Why We're Here:
To bring HappyBombs to life we are going to need a little help. A little more help we should say, since we’ve gotten some amazing contributions from our friends along the way. But to make this dream a reality, we need to raise some money. And that is why we're on Indiegogo.
Our goal is to raise enough money to fund our first three months of printing. This will include printing some of the HappyBomb lines mentioned above and printing a run of stickers.
Hopefully after a few months we will be a household name (dream big, right?) and we can start printing multiple shirts, stickers, and posters for every cause. But in the event we don’t blow-up over night (yeah, we said it), any amount we raise beyond our initial goal will simply go toward printing additional lines of HappyBombs. The more support we get, the more we can make.
If you are generous enough to back us, here are some of the exclusive perks you'll receive:
Who Deserves A Shout-out:
Neil Cleary - For an incredible music track.
Brian Riccio - For spending many late nights animating our video.
Phil Davis, Dave Caron, Dave Blank, Jeff Langevin and Mark LaRosa - For donating your design talents and helping us define our look.
Kevin McCracken and Daniel Phifer [from Social Imprints] - For being patient and helpful printing partners, working with us to make this happen.
Challenges And Risks:
As we see it, the biggest challenge ahead for this project is going to be spreading the word about HappyBombs. Luckily, that's what we do for a living. So we're actually pretty excited to get to work.
Our biggest risk would probably be our name. We are fueled by the notion of turning negatives into positives. And while we acknowledge that some people might not get that right away, it's a risk we're happy to take.
