Community in Unexpected Places
Greetings from Las Vegas is a free, all ages community event that will take place on Thursday, December 5th at the historic Gateway Motel, one of the oldest motels still in operation on the Las Vegas Strip.
For one night, we are transforming the historic Gateway Motel into a public gallery, showcasing works and installations by local model citizens in 20 rooms that will spark discussions about sustainability in Las Vegas.
If that wasn't enough, we will also have free local beer provided by Tenaya Creek Brewery, free food from Dona Maria Tamales, burlesque performances by Penni Piper, and local bands, the Swamp Gospel, the All-Togethers, and Ditch Diggers.
Help us put on an awesome. local Las Vegas experience for the community. Please be part of this project by donating your money, time, and ideas!
How You Can Help
After getting everything we could donated or reduced as much as possible, the entire cost of our event is $4,000. First and foremost, your contributions go toward room rentals at the Gateway Motel, an independently operated business. We are renting 20 rooms for two days, one day for set-up and the second day for the actual event.
Next, your contributions will pay for required permits and security costs. Then your contributions will help pay for green printing materials and eco-friendly food supplies.
For helping us put on this awesome event, we are excited to offer you unique perks - everything from vintage & commemorative matchbooks, retro motel key chains, Polaroids, limited edition prints, and guided walking tours. All items besides the vintage matchbooks are made in limited runs!
