Gosu's overarching goal is to be Seattle's first real home for BarCraft. Not just a temporary solution but a permanent installation. A place to hang out, grab a drink, watch a game, and to even use as a training ground. Converse with locals who have an interest in eSports just like you do, challenge someone to a game, or watch a live tournament; this is an establishment built around you.
Do you have friends that are interested in games but not necessarily eSports? Or maybe they're only interested in traditional sports? You've got a significant other who feels like they might be bored and won't relate with the crowd - Cool, bring them in. The great thing about eSports, like all sports, is that the crowd drives the excitement. We guarantee that if you spend time with us that you'll get just as excited about eSports as we are. You can expect that we'll always be open, friendly, and never intimidating.
If you have a question about a game, or need someone to show you how to elevate your skills, we'll help. On top of our knowledgeable staff, we plan to have meetups with professionals who can teach you what it takes to go from good to great.
Thirsty? We'll have you covered with rotating taps, wine, cider, and non-alcoholic beverages. Gosu is ALL AGES. We'll even have snacks and sandwiches for long gaming sessions.
If you're coming to this project fresh with no knowledge of eSports at all, Here are some stats to show how big the community actually is:
- Every year, Penny Arcade puts on PAX Prime in Seattle, one of the nations largest gaming expos. The number of attendees reaches up to 70,000.
- Major League Gaming's online streams of live events have up to 22.6 million people watching them.
- League of Legends has 32 million montly active players, and 12 million daily active players.
- Starcraft was released in 1998, and since then has grown to become a celebrated sport in Korea with television channels dedicated to it. Starcraft players in Korea, and now even in the US, can make 6 figures or more.
