We were ROBBED!! On 12/01/12 we set out on our move from California to our new home in Texas and stopped along the way in Tucson Arizona with our Budget Truck parked safely (at least we thought so) 30 feet away from the hotel entrance. We woke up the next day and looked out the window only to discover a pile of broken glass where our whole lifes worth of belongings had once been parked. We were lucky enough to get our car back out of the ordeal which contained my computer with all the magazine files and important info! So with a few pair of chonies, a couple shirts, and our 2 black cats we pressed on to Texas. (Sadly our leopard gecko Edgar Allen Poe didn't make it through the move)
All of our magazine company's merch was stolen. All the issues, all our shirts, our buttons, wristbands, everything. We also lost all of our start up clothing company's merchandise. This moving truck cost us $1,500 and in a blink vanished along with thousands of dollars of our belongings along with our items that can not be replaced. (The truck rental ended up putting me at a negative balance in the bank after they double charged me for the trailer we used to tow the car). We are the definition of an independent magazine. All of this product had been purchased through friends donations, an inheritance check from my grandfathers death, loans, etc. (my Grandfather believed in my companies and loaned me the money to get them started in the first place) My girlfriend also lost her whole make up kit that it had taken over 2 years to put together. She has put all of her schooling and expertise into our Gore Noir photoshoots. Any special effects artists will know how much these kits can cost to put together.
What We Need & What You Get
In order to replace what we lost and to help us get the ball rolling on our 7th issue which is in the works as we speak anything will help. The more we raise the better we will be able to hit the ground running and not miss a beat. I have big plans for this magazine and they all involve helping out the underground horror community. We are for the artists, the models, the musicians, the photographers, and everyone in between that is striving to make the horror genre great. We love spotlighting all these people that are overlooked by the larger magazines. We have our niche and it's that "culture" in horror culture. We are the tattooed blood loving freaks that like to just plain CREATE. I like to get involved in the community and not just "review" it.
Every little bit helps. Donate a few bucks. Share the compaign on your Facebook. Tweet it. Like it. Whatever you can do for us is greatly appreciated. Not only will this help out the magazine but it wil also help me get back on my feet. All my clothes, furniture, family photos, keepsakes, etc. were stolen along with that truck. My Grandfathers pocket knife that was passed on to me after he passed was locked away in that truck. Thankfully I had it's image tattooed on me. It'll be with me forever as will his strength and determination. We will continue on. Not only will we continue on but with your help we will prosper in 2013. My life long dream to create a successful magazine WILL be realized.
