How did Global Sorority come to life?
What have we done so far?
We filmed the first documentary in this series on a shoestring budget, lots of personal collateral and an incredible amount of community support. The end result was more than worth our time and effort, but without that support from our generous backers it wouldn't have been possible. With that amazing experience behind us, we now know exactly what it takes to produce even a short film of this intense nature. We've received an inspiring amount of interest in our project and it’s mission, from opportunities to speak about our journey, to premiering the first Global Sorority series at the Projecting Change Film Festival in April 2013.
To be able to share this next set of stories with the world, we need you to make it happen.
Who's on our team?
Where is your money going?
We will be using all of the funds from this campaign on transportation to and around the countries visited, budget accommodations, updating some filming equipment, and towards your backer rewards. we are applying for outside grants for additional costs (such as post production) to complete the documentary. We are donating the leadership training and materials for the girls and each of us will take the time off from our "other jobs" to create this film and will not receive a salary from this campaign.
The ImpactBy giving to this project you aren't just funding a documentary and providing leadership tools to girls in Indian, Vietnam, and the Philippines you are also supporting us in creating an educational series that will be used in schools and communities in North America to start a proactive discussion on how we can all come together to support each other and our world.
Other Ways You Can Help
Perhaps you can't help because money is tight right now (we know it's not always possible) so there are other ways we'd love your help: You can help generate traffic to this campaign by adding our story to your blog. You can click the share button and help spread the word in your social media networks and within your community. You can share the link within your company and get a team donation going. Maybe your birthday is coming up and instead of gifts you can direct people to our campaign to make a donation in your honour. Or maybe you have some time and could do a small fundraiser. EVERY DONATION COUNTS to making this possible. Thank you to all our present and past supporters for joining our "virtual" team.
