WHO ARE THE SAM WILLOWS?
Made up of siblings Benjamin and Narelle Kheng and their friends Jon Chua and Sandra Riley Tang, The Sam Willows burst onto the Singapore music scene in May 2012 with their luscious harmonies and special brand of soul-folk, creating a solid buzz across the island-state. In the short time since then, they’ve amassed more than 280,000 views on their YouTube page, and released a self-titled freshman EP to rave reviews.
In the past year, The Sam Willows have gone from playing live on TV at the Singapore's leading broadcaster's countdown party "Celebrate 2013" to touring North America where they performed at SXSW 2013 in Austin, TX and the Canadian Music Festival 2013 in Toronto, Ontario.
The Sam Willows also won a week's worth of studio time with 5-time Grammy Award winner, Steve Lillywhite, CBE, who recorded and produced this new track.
The Sam Willows were most recently seen opening the Singapore segment of the Asia Style Collection 2013 alongside other headliners, KPop sensations Girls Generation and 2NE1, and being the only Singapore act at Under The Stars: The YouTube Sensations alongside Tanner Patrick and Madilyn Bailey.

In April 2013, the band sat down in the studio with 5-time Grammy Award Winning producer Steve Lillywhite (U2, The Rolling Stones, 30 Seconds To Mars) for a week-long production session, organized by the Singapore Music Society (SGMUSO). The result – a reworking of our previous track “Glasshouse”; released as the band’s latest single, aptly titled “Glasshouse (Lillywhite Edition)”.
The final track, glossed with the famous, anthemic, pulsating “Lillywhite” sound, got us totally amped up and it was only a matter of days before we got down to pre-production discussion for a music video.
THE MUSIC VIDEO
The amazing folks at Bobbing Buoy Films came on board to direct and co-produce the MV, and in June 2013, we went into principal photography, all hands on deck. The project has been an absolute labour of love for us; we’ve invested nothing but the best of our time, finance, elbow grease and heart.
WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP
We’ve expended all that we have, cutting no corners in giving our best effort, physically, financially and emotionally for the Glasshouse (Lillywhite Edition) MV. Production budget is high, and we still need a bit of financial aid!
