Give Your Axe a Break and Grow a Beard is sponsored by Challenge 4 Charity (Berkeley Haas Chapter) as a fun way to raise money and awareness for our nonprofit partners - The Special Olympics and Alameda Point Collaborative.

Who are we?

Fact: Axe is the coolest cohort of the Haas MBA Class of 2014.  

The Axe cohort is a group of 60 first year MBA students at UC Berkeley who are banding together with the rest of their class to raise money for a great cause.  We're excited to be helping Challenge for Charity (C4C) raise money for charities like the Alameda Point Collaborative and the Special Olympics.  Axe has been helping C4C throughout the semester through volunteering activites and is now proud to be raising money this month as part "No Shave November".

What are we doing?

Fact: Challenge for Charity rocks.

In order to raise awareness (and money) in support of C4C organizations, several of our prestigious classmates have donated parts of their body as a "canvases" to grow au natural during the month of November.  Our goal is to raise $3,000 (and more) for C4C and we need your support!  

Challenge for Charity is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that draws on the talents, energy, and resources of MBA students from 9 west coast business schools to support Special Olympics, Boys and Girls Clubs, and family-related local charities, and to develop business leaders with a lifelong commitment to community involvement and social responsibility.

Why are we doing it?

Fact: beards and mustaches are just plain sexy.  

Looking like Burt Reynolds has its own benefits, but that's just icing on the cake.  C4C and it's partner non-profits are amazing organizations and we're committed to do everything we can to support their mission, from volunteering on the weekends to raising money any way we can.  

How can you help?

Fact: Money talks and even a small donation can help.

However, we realize that not everyone can donate.  If you're not able to give money yourself, please continue to help the cause by sharing this link and our story.  If nothing else, send us some moral support as our courageous classmates struggle through those first awkward weeks of any mustache, you know - before they truly blossom.
