Girls Rock Charleston is a nonproft organization that empowers girls and transgender youth through music education, DIY media and creative collaboration. After two wildly successful years of summer camp, Girls Rock Charleston is preparing to launch two new programs, starting with the Girls Rock Charleston After School Program in Fall 2013. At the after school program, students will form bands, write songs, participate in workshops, and perform in a showcase at the end of the semester. We are also planning an after school program for Spring 2014 that will provide more intensive leadership development, music education, and mentorship opportunities to older students.
We believe that community support is a reflection of community desire for our programming. Campers, volunteers, parents and supporters have expressed, over and over again, how they wish camp never ended, was two weeks long, involved real live unicorns, and that camper bands could stay together and write more songs. While we haven't as of yet been able to procure any real unicorns, we can build an awesome after school program to provide students with mentorship and music education beyond the week of camp. If you want to see the rocking out happen year-round, please pledge!
Remember, this is ALL OR NOTHING! If we do not reach our goal, Girls Rock will not get any of the money. So waste no more time! Grab the cash from under that broken floorboard, dip into your rainy day fund (ain't no rain in winter!), tell Grandma to skip the Snuggie and Uncle Ernie to leave that mug in the Casino gift shop and ask them to donate as their holiday gift to you!
The campaign ends on Christmas Day!
Thank you for showing your support by pledging to this campaign! Check out our website www.girlsrockcharleston.org or email email@example.com to learn more about how to be involved in what we do.
