Gather Around Me

An interview series for the young and the Jung at heart. New target: $2222

We met our target! Phase 2 INITIATED!

Well, we didn't see that coming quite so quickly. We've reached our target with quite a bit of time to spare, which means it's time to initiate Phase 2 of our plan: the violent overthrow of - wait, no, that's Phase 3.

Our new target is $2222.

The Four Twos. The first $750 of this will be spent on the planned podcast studio upgrade. The remaining money will be spent on video equipment to film a series of long form interviews with people both famous, infamous, and also not famous or infamous. But always interesting!

If you're anything like anybody, you probably long to see Ben Pobjie on the small screen, cracking wise with Tony Jones or passionately tongue-kissing Matt Preston. This will be the next best thing. You could even stickytape your computer to the television for the full effect. The magic of the movies.

Thank you very much.

Pleased to meet you, won't you guess our names.

That's not necessary. We're Ben Pobjie and Cam Smith. Hi. Thank you (past tense) for coming to our Indiegogo page. Thank you (in advance) for giving us a little bit of money.

We are a couple of guys who have been collaborating on podcasts and other funny things since June 2009 - before it was even cool. Ben is a comedian and writer. Cam is also a comedian and writer. Oh, and you do a podcast. Super original. Hey self-doubts, could you maybe cool it while we try to sell these rubes on this thing?

It is a bit original! It is not just two dudes talking crap. This is a podcast that is chock full of laughs, but also chock full of pathos and bathos.

We are raising this money to expand our mobile studio. Once we do this, we'll be able to record high quality audio AND video interviews with celebrities and non-celebrities literally anywhere except in the unforgiving vacuum of space and probably snooty restaurants. They would take a dim view of it, probably.

The pitch template says to keep this bit concise and personal. We love you. There. We said it.

All We Need Is Love

Our initial target of $750 was for audio equipment costing $553, podcast hosting fees for a year, and $17 worth of Blue Heaven Spiders.

We now want to raise a further $1472 to invest in the equipment we need to make a vodcast series that looks good. Ben and Cam both have quite a bit of experience in the area of video production - you need not worry that we will just be spending ALL of the money on Russian horror drug Krokodil.

Any money we make over the target will be spent on better equipment for the vodcast. And maybe, like, a maximum of two celebratory Aero bars.

If we don't make it to our new target, we will still be doing the video series - we'll just be funding more of it out of our own pockets and it'll take us a bit longer to get started.

Oh, and one of Ben's kids won't get a birthday this year.

What do I get? (oh ohh what do I get?)

Everyone who donates $5 or more will get access to a super-special podcast just for donors. It will be really good.

We also have some poetical and erotical and sacrilicious rewards available for those who care to drop a few extra coins in our bucket. Ben and Cam are famed for their abilitiy to rhyme/arouse/blaspheme, so you will not be disappointed.

Actually, you will probably be disappointed if you really do want erotic erotica, but not if you want laffs.

Was there something else? Oh yeah, we will record a podcast every single day of this campaign, the subject of which will be determined immediately prior to the recording by someone on Twitter.

Ben! Cam! Is there any other ways I can help youse?

A sports massage wouldn't go astray, TO BE HONEST.

Also, get the word out! Tell your friends about our campaign on Twitter, on Facebook, on your blog, on Tumblr, on Myspace, on Friendster, on Bebo, on OKCupid, on Diaspora, on that dumb Wikileaks one, on VampireFreaks, on Weredads.com - the social network for men who turn into dads at the full moon. and so on. You could even send someone a letter. Really? What is this? THE MIDDLE AGES?

Anyway! Thank you, and have a LOVELY DAY (not sarcastic).
