From Bedrooms to Billions

Progress of the film – Really sorry it has taken so long for this update! We have been filming almost non-stop for weeks with the most filming intensive period we have been through.

We have had quite a few similar messages recently so decided to update now to cover these points as most of them are to do with the 4.5 Hour (2-disc) Special Edition of the film.

Upgrade to 2-Disc Special Edition – So many of you have upgraded to the ‘Special Edition’ so thank you so much for that! Every one of you who upgraded will be replied to directly confirming this, sorry for the delay it is only because of us pressing on with the film production, but all your messages have been safely stored ready for all the data to be amended accordingly. If you have not been replied to by the time of the next update (2 weeks) then please do not hesitate to get in contact.

We created an upgrade window until the 4th June simply to avoid an admin headache but didn’t expect the uptake for the Special Edition to be quite so popular (read earlier update to learn what the Special Edition is). People on PayPal and a number of yourselves (who missed the updates) have asked if you can still upgrade, the answer is ‘yes’, if you wish to upgrade to the ‘Special Edition’ version of the film then simply visit http://www.frombedroomstobillions.com/kickstarter click on the ‘Custom Pledge Amount’ at the top right of the page and pay the £20 upgrade fee (+ £10 discounted Special Edition poster fee if required) and then send us a message that you have done so.

Leftover Perks – Many of you have kindly written requesting what perks are remaining and if they can be combined or mixed up. Currently there are still some Matthew Smith signed ZX Spectrum’s & Manic Miner / Jet Set Willy’s, David Braben signed ‘Boxed‘ BBC B Micros and copies of Elite and posters, plus a couple of signed boxed Commodore 64’s with bundles of games signed by Rob Hubbard, Ben Daglish & Martin Galway. If any of these items are of interest (or you want a perk not on this list custom created for yourself) then write to us on info@graciousfilms.com as every penny we raise only goes into the production of the film.

BEN DAGLISH JOINING US ON STAGE

We appeared at last Sunday’s Retro Revival event, thank you to those of you that came and listened to us talk about the movie. We showed some clips and answered loads of questions about the film. Joining us on stage was video game composer Ben Daglish who talked a little bit about the soundtrack and his involvement with the film in general as well as sharing his own views on the UK Video Games Industry over the years. The event in general was excellent so please see the attached picture of the 3 of us on stage.

SPECIAL EDITION UPGRADE

We have been overwhelmed by the number of you who have taken up our offer to upgrade to the 4.5 hour Special Edition version of the film. It is nice to know that something which really only came about because of your own comments, feedback and suggestions is proving so popular. Finally several people have written asking us if there any leftover perks still available from the recent Kickstarter campaign. There are and as we have said anything further raised between now and the release of the film goes straight into the production budget, including every penny raised from the ‘Special Edition’ so visit http://www.frombedroomstobillions.com/kickstarter and have a look at what is available, what is gone is marked as ‘Sold out’. We just tried to do an update and Indiegogo reported an error with their website, but it seemed to have posted half of the update text. Please find below the original ‘first part’ of that text.

Once again thank you for your support and contributions to our ‘From Bedrooms to Billions’ campaign.

The current Kickstarter campaign has raised enough for us to commit to produce a 4.5 hour Special Edition version of the film. The ‘Special Edition’ contains an extra 2 hours of exclusive content, extended interviews, outtakes not included in the main film.

As promised all those who pledged £120 ($180) upwards via Kickstarter, PayPal or the previous Indiegogo campaigns have automatically been upgraded to the 4.5 hour ‘Special Edition’. however below provides an option for anyone else also wishing to upgrade their current version of the film to the ‘Special Edition’.

HOW TO UPGRADE TO 4.5 HOUR SPECIAL EDITION

Upgrade Option – Upgrade window of 21 days only until Tuesday 4th June 2013!

This offer will simply upgrade your current copy of the film to the 4.5 Hour ‘Special Edition’ version of the film, all the other items in your pledge level will remain the same. The DVD & Blu-ray Special Edition versions include a 2nd separate disc and the case contains a reversible cover, with the original poster on one side, and Special Edition version on the other. The digital download version will simply be all the separate assets.To take advantage of this upgrade you must have already bought a copy of the film (digital download, DVD or Blu-ray) via the original Indiegogo, Kickstarter or PayPal campaigns.

Only 4 Days to go with a sneak preview of Mark Healey on ‘Little Big Planet’

4 DAYS TO GO now and once again THANK YOU so much for getting us so close to our £60k STRETCH GOAL!

As promised please find attached a clip of MARK HEALEY co-founder of Media Molecule talking about the thinking behind ‘LITTLE BIG PLANET’. Mark, who started out developing on the Commodore 64 in the late 80’s was inspired to get into game development by many of the individuals we feature in this film and gave us a fascinating interview a few weeks ago, we hope you enjoy the clip.

Finally we’ve had some similar questions regarding the STRETCH GOALS on our current Kickstarter campaign (http://kck.st/V0U89j) aimed at our creation of the 4.5 hour two disc MEGA SPECIAL EDITION so we hope you don’t mind if we just remind everyone again of the following three tiers.

 At £60K everyone backing at £120 and above gets a free upgrade to the ‘Special Edition’!

 At £75K everyone backing at £70 and above gets a free upgrade to the ‘Special Edition’!
