Who we are
Fort York are Connor Lavelle, Kyle Fulton, Dan Lefebvre, Rory Lavelle and Nick Kewin: a group of great friends who love music. We've known each other since we were kids going to sleep-away camp together every summer, where we taught each other how to write and play music. 2 years ago, we finally had the chance to spend some time recording the songs we'd worked on for ages thanks to the help of some old friends. The end was result was Feels Like Then, an 8 track EP that we're incredibly proud of.
Feels Like Then was a community effort supported by friends and family at every step - recording, producing, mixing, mastering, packaging and distributing. It took over 2 years to get the album out, even though all the songs were written. While it was a success, this time we want to get the music out into the world sooner and without having to rely as much on the generosity of the same few people that helped us in the past. We're so excited that a site like Indiegogo exists that can help us achieve this!
Why we're doing this
We're hoping that through this campaign, and the EP it hopefully funds, that we'll get the attention of a label, who feel as strongly about our songs as we do. But more than that, we're just eager to share the best version of our new songs with the friends and fans we already have, and we've learnt that unfortunately, this isn't something done cheaply.
What we need
In order to record and release this album, we need to pay for:
- Studio Time
- Promotions and Marketing
We've gotten all our estimates together, and this is going to cost us $3,500.
What you can do
We'd ask that you give our music a listen, and if you like it, consider donating a bit to our project. As your donations come in, we'll start recording!
What you get
Check out our incentives - they're coool!
