Hi all – many thanks for your contributions! Now that the two months of this campaign have ended, I thought I’d send an update to all of you who kindly donated.

The fund raised $440. This is nothing anywhere near the $174,000 goal, of course, but certainly better than nothing.

The story isn’t over for Mark – if you are still interested in helping him, I would encourage you to donate to the Track and Driver fund. It is available at http://www.trackdriver.com/mark_hales_appeal.php . The fund has been set up by Track and Driver magazine for Mark, and is the official site for donations to this cause. I’ve been in touch with Mark who’s asked me to roll the proceeds from this campaign into that fund, and so I have done so.

Again, many thanks to all who contributed and helped to promote this. Hopefully this long story will have a somewhat satisfactory ending!
