Horse barn fire causes $500K damage

A massive fire at a farm in Bradford has left thirty horses without shelter.

All of the horses were safely evacuated from the barn however three dogs died.

The barn is used by Perfectly Stable Farms, a program that helps underprivileged children build a relationship with animals.

Julie Parsons, founder of Perfectly Stable Farms, told CityNews the barn was destroyed.

“Everything is gone now, the barn burned to the ground,” she said. “We’re just not sure how we’re going to cope with having absolutely no equipment. The kids can’t ride anymore. There’s no saddles left, there’s no bridals left, there’s no horse food, there’s no horse anything left.”

She says neighbours have helped by donating blankets but there is no housing for the horses, two of which are ready to foal at any time.

About Perfectly Stable Farms

Perfectly Stable was built upon this belief: first that children need a special place, a place that fosters responsibility, independance and accountability, the building blocks of progressive developement.
Second there must be a level playing field for all children regardless of station, situation or challenge.
Third that financially horses should not be an unobtainable dream for so
many children and their families.
We are Perfectly Stable Farms and this is where horse dreams really do come true.

What We Need & What You Get

I am trying to raise $20,000. The majority will be going to replace all the contents of our barn and also to rebuilding it

We help under priviledged children by providing a safe place for them to come and experience the beuty of a relationship with animals. For most of our members this has always been a dream. but know with out our facilities we can nolonger provide this dream

If we dont reach $20,000 we will use what we raise to rent another facility until ours can be repaired and also purchase much needed supplies for the horses as everything is gone.

If we go beyond our goal the additional funds will be used to provide free memberships to more chidren.

The Impact

Times are hard for alot of people and our services are an escape for many children that normally could not afford to take part in these types of activities.

Acheiving this goal will bring this dream back to our members and allow us to continue to help.
