The Everyday Rock Star team aims to create an original reality series starring Michael Cavanaugh. This Fall, we will shoot a professional 5-10 minute sizzle reel as the first step in selling the series to networks.
We want to produce a quality reality show that incorporates music with community engagement, as well as highlighting Michael and his charm, talent, and antics on the road.
We have a $25,000 budget that will cover the cost of the entire shoot which includes filming Michael, the band and his entourage on location and editing the sizzle reel. This will also allow us a budget to pitch to the networks. The $10,000 IndieGoGo budget will allow us to shoot the sizzle reel on location and edit the footage. Any additional funds raised will allow us to aggressively pitch the networks and have a better crew to increase the quality of the shoot and the editing.
Every dollar we raise will go into the production of this reality series and its subsequent distribution. Once our sizzle reel is complete, we will immediately start pursuing production of Season One. We will keep everyone up to date on the status of the show and the progress we make.
Follow the most successful "Everyday Rockstar" in the business as he tours the country playing for the world's largest companies, billionaires and other private events, while attempting to maintain a normal and healthy lifestyle on the road...from Maui to Orlando, New York City to LA and all stops in between. Join the fun with Michael and the band as they arrive at each location and have to make time for work out routines, personal relationships, and surviving on the road. All this while getting ready for the show, and overcoming all the obstacles that occur when trying to produce a world class show in just one day.
In Las Vegas, Nevada, Michael Cavanaugh prepares for another show on the road. Another plane trip, another hotel, but this isn’t your typically Rock Star and things don’t always go as planned, that is what makes up Everyday Rock Star.
In Michael’s suitcase he packs both protein and pull-up bars. It’s another 48 hour whirlwind of trying to stay out of the lobby bar and on the pull-up bar. From finding a healthy late night restaurant to making sure that he does his workouts on the road, you will see the temptations and obstacles to overcome in the 48 whirlwind from flights to sound check to show.
You will also see all the comedic moments that occur on each trip. What will it be this time? Band members get stranded at the airport, band members busted by security for playing hotel lobby football, Michael getting “floor spice” for returning his over hard eggs 3 times at a diner, or a band member having one too many tequila shots and almost missing sound check.
Striving for a normal lifestyle but dealing with the craziness on the road. You get to see it all, the behind the scenes, the real story behind the musicians and entertainers we know and love. Somewhere between wedding band and mega-star, this is "Everyday Rock Star".
Who We Are
Everyday Rock Star is a reality series starring Tony and Grammy nominated, Michael Cavanaugh. He was handpicked by Billy Joel to star in title role of his hit broadway musical Movin' Out and evokes a style rivaling the Piano Man. Michael appeared in the show for 3 years and over 1200 performances, receiving accolade after accolade, which culminated in 2003 with both Grammy and Tony award nominations.
With the close of Movin’ Out at the end of 2005, Michael began touring in his own right, creating a show that reinterprets the modern pop/rock songbook. Michael soon became one of the hottest artist’s in the corporate/events market. He continues to perform worldwide for company and charity events as well as sporting events including PGA tour events, the US Open, the Indy 500.

Producer: Hunter Carson
Hunter has spent a lifetime in the motion picture industry, cutting his teeth as an actor, and working his way from the bottom up to then become a writer, producer and director for feature films and reality television in Los Angeles, New York and Dallas. After working on many projects in various roles and levels of responsibility, his feature film Bull fighter was produced in Denmark in 2000, quickly followed by his first break as a director in 2001 when Michael Rymer asked him to direct the title sequence for his film Perfume. Two years later he directed talent of the caliber of Tim Roth and Richard Schiff for the short film With It. This garnered him national and international recognition, including an honorary mention at the MannheimHeidelberg international Film Festival and official selection at the Tribeca FilmFestival. This award winning short film still has resonance today in films such as Crank and Hitman. In 2003 Hunter jumped full throttle into the burgeoning reality television industry: where he has worked both as a director and producer for, among others, Bobby Goldstein Productions, and their syndicated show Cheaters.
