Alex and I met last year in the Act One Producing program in Los Angeles. Since then this idea has been percolating in our minds, inboxes and notebooks. With the elections coming we wanted to take a chance and step it up. Not to make yet another political soap-box, but to try and contribute something different to the political conversation. With that in mind, come election time we shall have for your viewing pleasure a short film thats going to make you laugh, cry and give you a much needed break from all the mud-slinging that seems to accompany elections these days.
Here's the story...
Synopsis: “Escalation” is the story of Tim, who's pining love for a girl is buried beneath his red hair and bully-avoidance radar. One day, in a burst of middleschool daring Tim gives the school bully a taste of his own medicine, not realizing the world-wide implications of his misplaced bravado. Implications of truly atomic proportions.
With the elections approaching, this film is aimed at getting people thinking across the aisle. In a time when grand-standing stands in for statesmanship, it is about time that some other voices spoke up and changed the tone. It's our turn. Short films are only as powerful as the audiences that carry them. Alex, myself and the whole crew want you along with us for the ride.
What We Need & What You Get
We have figured out how to make a small amount go a long way. Still we can't make this film on good ideas. Everything that is donated goes to making sure that we can make this film professionally and in time for election day. You get bragging rights when you show the film around to your friends and family because you were in on the whole thing. And we have some great things to send your way as a thank you as well.
