“Don't be afraid of it. You can totally be a non-athlete and experience this performance and really have an amazing time.”
– Jessica Baker (Producer, ENDURE, featured in the video above)
ENDURE is a show that moves bodies, hearts and minds.
"Never have I experienced such candidness or vulnerability in a piece of work," said one audience member who has seen the show three times.
With your help we’ve raised 95% of the funds needed to take us to the UK this summer! Thank you!
But we’re not quite there yet.
If you saw ENDURE for free at Figment NYC earlier this month, or during one of its 2011 runs, and you haven’t yet contributed please consider doing so now, during our final two weeks of fundraising. How much is high-quality, innovative and daring theatre worth to you? $10? $25? Please give whatever you can.
See you in London and Edinburgh! And thanks again for your support.
– Melanie Jones
P.S. If you haven’t seen the show, check out what some people who have seen it had to say.
About ENDURE: A Run Woman Show
ENDURE takes you into the mind, body and heart of a runner, using the marathon as a metaphor for life’s losses and triumphs. You follow along at your own pace as this uniquely immersive piece of dance-theatre winds through beautiful parkland. A gripping narrative, backed by a dreamlike musical soundtrack, fills your ears. The show is at once gorgeous, raw, poetic, hilarious and honest.
- Sold out shows in New York and Canada in 2011 and 2012
- A groundswell of support from runners and theatre lovers alike
- Two dozen great reviews from media like CBC Radio, NY Daily News, The Huffington Post, Washington Times Communities, RunnersWorld.com and FitnessMagazine.com.
The Calgary Herald gave ENDURE four stars and named it one of the Most Memorable Theatre Moments of 2011.
“I laughed. I cried. I laughed so hard I cried.”

About the 2012 Summer Tour
ENDURE’s 2012 Summer tour kicked off with two shows at Figment NYC on Governors Island earlier in June. There, using the tiny island's mix of natural and urban landscape, we played to audiences so rapt that they did not even notice the industrial drum corps, house music and naked ladies.
In August we’ll perform during the Summer Games (although we are in no way affiliated with the Olympics), hosted by London’s esteemed Riverside Studios (staging in Ravenscourt Park). That will be followed by a two week run with the prestigious Assembly Rooms at Edinburgh Festival Fringe (staging in Holyrood Park). For more event details, or to reserve or purchase tickets, please visit our show site.
I’m representing Canada on the world stage and I’m so proud! The tour has already featured in Maclean’s and (soon) Canadian Running Magazine -- and will be profiled in international media during the tour.
However, the UK leg of the tour is where the costs really add up: $45,000 to be exact. Why does it cost so much? There's payroll (performer, director, crew, on-location producers in London and Edinburgh), travel expenses (flights, accommodations, trains, ground transportation, travel/medical insurance and food), production expenses (props, costumes, equipment, audio devices), admin expenses (permits, liability insurance, visas, festival fees, taxes), and marketing/PR expenses (press agents, posters/postcards, advertising).
But we’re almost there! If this were a marathon, we'd be just hitting Mile 25. You can help Team ENDURE cross the fundraising finish line!
