Daughters Of Tomorrow is a social enterprise based in Singapore, working towards enabling livelihoods for women in disadvantaged situations. We design products for sale and train our women beneficiaries to produce them, paying them an income for their skills and labor.
We work with a women's cooperative in Kadapa in South India, as well as women from the underprivileged sector in Singapore.
Some of our women beneficiaries locally are from low-income families with many children to feed. Some of them are going through troubled marriages or domestic violence and need some form of financial independence to re-establish control over their lives.
What We Need & What You Get
We need to rent an office space for inventory storage, as well as to provide a safe and supportive environment for our local women beneficiaries to work in.
We are also looking to purchase sewing machines which can help to increase our training and production capacity, as well as enable us to expand our product development to cater to the diverse skills and interests of more women so that they too can be enrolled into our livelihood programs.
The funds you contribute will help us with the purchase of training materials as well as operations cost in making our training programs available to more women.
These training programs help the women to regain a sense of self-worth and confidence, as well as a headstart to gain employment through the skills they acquire. Through having an income, they can then start to tackle the other areas in their lives, such as providing education for their children, and gaining the confidence to address or walk away from abusive situations.
