DRONE STRIKE

1 killing, 2 victims, 4000 miles

What is Drone Strike?

Drone Strike is a gripping 20 minute drama about Will Brydon, a family man and RAF drone pilot, who juggles the warped reality of dropping his kids off at school in the morning, with his job firing hellfire missiles 4000 miles away. It’s about one fateful decision - how it shatters his resolve and devastates an Afghan family.

Why are you making it?

It’s a fascinating topic, and the history of drones is being written right now. So we’ve written a script that condenses some of this into a cracking story, and we want as many people as possible to enjoy this film. We think you’ll love it.

Who’s making it?

A core team of award-winning talent:

Director, writer - Chris Richmond

Producer, writer - Mike Sedgwick

Co-Producer - Oliver Ronicle

Director of Photography - Franklin Dow

Line producer - Noelia Lage Vazquez

Why are you on Indiegogo?

We managed to scrape enough money together to pay for Pre-Production and Production - we cast and shot the film in UK and Morocco (Afghanistan) between August and November last year. We’ve got as far as a tight edit, and it looks great. But we need your help to finish it (Post-Production) and get it in front of audiences (Distribution). The details are below, so you can see exactly how we’re spending the money.

What’s in it for me?

We hope that if you’re reading this, you’re interested in seeing this film. You can directly help that become a reality - we really want you to see it too! And if that’s not enough, we’ve got some great perks listed over on the right that will give you lasting memories of this unique production. There are glossy production stills from both countries, including cast and making-of insights. For a little more you can get a signed copy of the script, or a digital download. And if you stretch a bit higher you can come to a private screening with cast and crew, and get your name in the credits. (We’d love to meet you all.) Plus whatever your contribution, we’ll keep you up to date with the film’s progress, and we want to hear from you too.

Spreading the word

Whether you are able to contribute financially or not, we’d love it if you could share us with your friends and family who you think might want to watch this film - spread the word...!

Post-Production tasks:

Visual effects - including CGI & explosions, compositing, motion graphics, title sequence and image licensing - £5,050

Audio - including treatment, ADR, soundscape and specially composed music soundtrack - £3,900

As you’d imagine, we’ve negotiated hard, and got deals wherever we can, but it still adds up to about £8,600

Distribution - First Wave

We want to enter it into some film festivals. We hope it’s good enough to get into some big ones, like Venice or Locarno, but there are plenty of others too, and each one that we enter increases the chances that Drone Strike will reach the audience it deserves. To help us with entry fees, all the required deliverables including press packages, and other first wave marketing initiatives we need to raise an extra £3,000.

How much do you need?

So we need to raise £11,950 to get Drone Strike as good as it can possibly be, and in front of audiences. This will cover all the post and distribution costs at their leanest and meanest rates.
