What is the Florida Renaissance Festival?
The Florida Renaissance Festival is a show set in the 16th Century. It re-creates the village of Kegsworthy. Over one hundred merchants and artisans demonstrate and sell their 16th century wares in this village. There is glass blowing, hammered pewter, wooden toys, unique pottery, clothing and a myriad of other unique, period crafts. There are also hundreds of costumed performers, on twelve stages and literally all around the village, even in the streets. The crowds can cheer armored knights as they mount their steeds, aim their lances and charge at a joust. They can also meet the Royal Court as they visit the village on their royal progress. This Festival is a place where one can leave the present behind, and travel back to an era suspended in myth and history!
