Small Sensor That Can See Through Materials
Hi! We are Intelligent Agent.
Our team consists of three people: Elias, Øyvind and Jonas.
If we add up all our radar experience, the three of us have 9 years of experience with this technology. Our company have existed for three years now and we can see that the technology has a lot of potential.
We love radar technology. Why? Because it can see through stuff. Yes, that is right. A radar uses electromagnetic pulses that can travel through materials. Just like wifi signals and cellphone signals.
This means you can create a device that the police can use to get information about what is going on behind a door before entering a house. Or you can measure the vital signs of a person lying in a hospital bed from a distance. Or you can make a robust altimeter for drones that is not affected by wind, temperature or fog.
The problem is that the technology has been a bit expensive. Like "a few thousand dollars per unit"-expensive. So for people without a big budget like hackers/makers, academics and small companies that need to solve a niche-specific problem, the barrier has been too high.
And that sucks, because these people usually have really great innovative ideas.
So our goal is to change that. We want to push the price down. But in order to accomplish this, we need help from you to get this technology noticed by a lot of people.
The radar device will be easy to program and released in open source. Instead of us creating a customized solution for all the problems out there (and thereby adding a lot of cost), we publish the source code and simplify the coding process and thereby empowering the users to create what they want.
The money collected in this campaign will go in to modifying the hardware to make it smaller and cheaper, setting up production and creating the first batch of radars.
If you can't buy a radar, maybe we can tempt you with some of our uniqe perks like a USB business card? Check out the perks on the right.
All resources for the Dipper is kept closed for now, everything will be released once the campaign is successful, until then you can have a look at how the raw signals are displayed in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qnHHEtbc1N8&feature=youtu.be
What's Up With the Name "Dipper"?
The radar has been called Dipper because Dipper, or "Fossekall" as it is called in Norwegian, is Norway's national bird. And as you might have guessed, we are Norwegians.
Other Ways You Can Help
If you are not able to contribute, it doesn't mean you can't help. Please make some noise for us by sharing this campaign using the IndieGoGo sharing tools.
