The Synopsis

Taylor Holly is a delicate socialite facing her family's deadly politics. Chad Ackerman is excitable, emotionally-overloaded, and often unsure of himself. The two collide when Taylor's family commits her to the asylum where Chad works. Together they have to escape Dekker Asylum, even if it is for different reasons.

The members of the Dekker Asylum Team worked together nearly a year ago on our first project, Hollow Tags.

This prior experience gives us an advantage as a team; we have developed a shorthand that our crew uses when working on projects, and we have a familiarity with each other's strengths and weaknesses. These qualities allow us to work quickly and efficiently.

For Hollow Tags, Bomani Story was at the helm, as the director and writer. Now that the short is complete, we're moving on to Dekker Asylum with Josh Miller sitting in the director's chair.

We have a talented crew that is working for free and any contribution would help cover necesary costs such as insurance, equipment, food, locations, and other materials.  Your contributions can help us achieve the quality we'd like to see on the big screen, and can make our project a reality.

The Dekker Asylum project requires a more unconventional approach to filmmaking, which is why we need to secure a strong budget in order to bring the short to life.  Right now, the projected budget is the amount we need to make the film without any sacrifices. However, if we can raise more than what's projected, we will be able to explore more avenues with our creativity.
