Please note that this was developed by my 14 year old son and that all funds raised through indiegogo will be managed by his parents to go towards production.
What is the Define Bottle?
The Define Bottle is a beautifully crafted glass and bamboo infusion bottle for creating fresh fruit infused water and taking it on the go. It represents getting back to the basics and a step towards helping the obesity and diabetes epidemic that has been caused by soda and other sugary drinks. Fresh fruit and water is pure and simple.

Please note that to get a bottle you will need to support us through indiegogo.com/definebottle
What stage is the bottle in?
We are currently in the tooling phase, where the factory is making the parts that will make your bottles. We anticipate production will be complete by mid December and we will be shipping towards the end of that month. If you contribute to this project, we WILL deliver the product.
ABOUT THE DEFINE BOTTLE TEAM
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us.
Before I discuss the bottle, I would like to give you a little background on how it came about - it’s a pretty cool story. For the past few years my son and I would make fruit infused water everyday in either a countertop vessel or in a pitcher that would fit in the refrigerator. However, when I would run out, I would always grab a diet soda or artificially sweetened water. One day, my son asked why don’t you just take fruit infused water with you. I explained to him that I cant just throw fruit in to a water bottle because it would float up to the mouth piece and swell and get stuck in the bottom of the bottle. Trust me, I had a few bottles with science experiments growing in the bottom. I couldn't get the fruit out.
That was my son’s “Aha” moment where he turned into a 14 year old entrepreneur. He developed sketches of what he had in mind, did a lot of research on how you develop a product and pitched it to my husband and I. Instantly we both thought it was a great idea not only for your health but for the environment too.
It has been a lot of work and it has taken us over 9 months to get us to the point to where we are today. Once we knew we were going to invest in this monetarily and pour tons of time and energy in to it, we enlisted the help of an industrial design firm in Los Angeles. We are currently in the tooling/molding phase and our first run will be in early November with delivery to the United States in December.
Our industrial design team offers end-to-end product design and development out of its studio in Los Angeles, CA. They provide Industrial Design, User Experience, Mechanical Engineering, in addition to Supply Chain Setup, Manufacturing Support, and Quality Control services to their clients.
An Design Lab works with multiple factories which we got samples from and quotes. We picked one that was not the cheapest but had the samples closest to our vision and has experience in working with glass and bamboo. We were looking for great craftsmanship and quality materials. We are through the design and prototype stages and have also completed the patent process with an intellectual property firm out of San Francisco (filed for a Utility Patent). We also have a branding expert from San Diego helping to bring the vision to reality. We figured if we were going to do this then let's do it right and find a team of experts to help make our vision a reality.
Through our industrial Design team we have selected a factory that is not necessarily the cheapest but has the craftsmanship and quality that we were looking for. It truly is a beautiful bottle and it makes you feel great to see your fresh fruit floating in your bottle and knowing that you are doing something great for your body and the environment! It really is one of those things where people will stop and ask you about it.
Now I introduce you to my son Carter:
My name is Carter. Six months ago I began formulating a concept in my mind to give people the tools they need to choose healthy options. The Define Bottle is the result of my efforts. It is a cutting edge, glass and bamboo reusable water bottle for great tasting fruit infused water. I took the idea behind fruit infused water pitchers and made it mobile, not to mention stylish.
After watching “super size me”, I began to research about the negative health effects of soda and juice. Diabetes and obesity sounded like terrible diseases and I desired to do something about it. I saw the need to make a sustainable, portable version of fruit infused water pitchers for people on the go. The only other option for health conscious people is for them to buy plain water or plastic bottles of artificially flavored and sweetened water beverages.
I also wanted to to do something good for the environment. The amount of disposable plastic bottles we use is ridiculous and the carbon footprint of a plastic water bottle is not something I want to think about every time I take a drink.
So I wanted the product to be healthy, environmentally friendly, and fill a void in the market. Here are the features I knew it must have:
- A great look. I wanted the bottle to be the best looking water bottle anyone has ever seen.
- Functional. It must keep the fruit cool, and keep the fruit and ice away from the spout to prevent snarfing a large piece of orange when taking a drink.
- Perfect size. It must be large enough to hold a decent amount of water, but not too big or else it will be too heavy or not fit in standard cup holders.
With these ideas in mind, I set out to create a sketch and that started the ball rolling. Our goal is to have an alternative way to hydrate on the go and not be forced to grab a soda, artificially flavored water or juice and to do something that is good for our bodies and the environment.
We sincerely thank you for taking the time to learn more about us and we hope you will have a bottle in your hand soon!
