By being part of this project, you would be helping aspiring filmmakers. You would be helping people who have had the courage to pursue their dreams. This is the chance many of us need to step into our careers and follow our dreams.
Now we’re not going to tell you that this movie will change your life. But it can: make you smile, brighten your day, make you laugh out loud, fill your heart with joy, and change the world! Well maybe not change the world, but sometimes taking small steps, like smiling more could change the world. At the very least we feel it’s important to make you happier, to take a moment of your day to watch this film and laugh.
We are a diverse group of students from around the world, studying at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. We are working to produce a feature film in conjunction with Roger Corman. All of us share one thing in common, we want to be filmmakers.
We have been working for the past two years, plotting the course of this project.
For many of us this is our first feature length film, the first hands on opportunity to run a large production. With your help we will have a chance to go into the next stage: production.
This is not a small project that can be shot in our apartments while trying to keep the noise down. With this project we get a chance to work with and manage a huge team of people. Through this we will be able to bring you a fun film that you can watch over and over to your heart’s content.
The film: Crunchies is a film about aliens (Crunchies) and a guy named Leo. The Crunchies are hell bent on destroying the Earth, leaving Leo to save the world - and of course get the girl along the way.
What We Need & What You Get
A lot of sweat and blood has already been spent. It has been a long, difficult two years since the inception of this project; however, as of now we posses some limited resources. We have a great faculty of industry professionals helping and guiding us through the process. We have managed to convince Mr. Roger Corman to join us in this endeavour. He is willing to finance part of the film provided we can raise $50,000 with your help. This is our challenge.
While all these resources are incredibly helpful, we still desperately need further financing.
So where will your money go? We need money to cover costs for everything from securing locations, to getting permits and insurance, to feeding the crew, to the creation of props and wardrobe, and much more. Everything adds up quickly so we need your help.
We’ve come up with some fun incentives we think you’ll enjoy. Like the customized director’s chair or the Special Edition DVD with Alien Case. Take a look to the right to see the whole list.
From all of us filmmakers to you, we want to thank you for even considering donating to our project. And remember, no sacrifice is too great for art.
