EDUKWEST is always on the search for projects that have the potential to change education for the better. This is one of them.
I'm Alex Browne, the creator of CrowdCourse. I'm 20 years old and I have about 2 years of programming and web design experience. The idea for CrowdCourse comes from some of the problems I have personally faced as a student and some of the shortcomings of existing online education solutions.
CrowdCourse is a unique idea. It combines the organization of sites like Khan Academy or Coursera with the crowd-sourced nature of sites like YouTube or Wikipedia. We're changing the way education works by providing a platform for teachers to effectively reach a wide audience, and by making it easier than ever to find what you're looking for and learn fast.

What We Need & What You Get
CrowdCourse is a not-for-profit organization, but keeping a site like this online isn't cheap. Up until now I've been paying for all the costs out of pocket, but it's gotten to the point we're I simply cannot continue. We're asking for $3,000 dollars to keep CrowdCourse online for our first year. Most of the funds will go toward basic upkeep costs like web and database hosting and video hosting. The rest will go toward marketing materials, which will include flyers for college campuses as well as online advertisements and SEO.
