The Combimouse is a patented and award winning combination keyboard and mouse.
I think that I will swap the two rows as you suggested but for a different reason.
Wonder what the others think.
As you pointed out F7..F12 are not used as often, so I am going to make them the multi-media keys – to activate the F7..F12 you would need to press the Fn key. This way the multi-media keys are easy accessible at the top. Apple does this ie. defaults the F7..F12 keys to multi-media keys.
On the left part.
I think the rows f1….f6 and f7…f12 should be swaped:
f1….f6 are used more ofthen.
I wasn’t sure what to do here.
Firstly I’d like to point out that all keys will be user configurable.
For Windows keyboards there are three special function keys. On the Mac in the same space, there are four special function keys. The Mac has an extra Fn key on the left (ie. where I have positioned the ctrl key). I’m not sure if there is an ideal compromise solution. The best I could do was to move the Fn key from the leftmost position to next to the Space.
on the left part, I use mac, and the keys are
fn control alt command
could the window button be moved to the side which would keep the alt and control next to each other. Alt is used for accents and I could imagine hitting the window button instead of alt often.
Congrats on the patent!
