Collaborize Classroom is transforming education.
Collaborize Classroom® is all about “student engagement” and that’s what it’s been about from day one. Students suddenly shift from individual learners” to “co-discovering knowledge” with their peers. Students form private learning communities” where each one benefits from the collective creativity, intelligence, skills, perspectives and strengths that their peers bring to their collaborative learning environments. Learning becomes engaging, effective and fun.
In January 2011, we launched Collaborize Classroom and literally within the first week we were hearing back from teachers that it was transforming their experience as educators. Students who previously never spoke in class suddenly became significant contributors in discussions, after just one session doing their Collaborize Classroom homework. Enthusiasm for learning, and even homework, went way up. The quality of student work improved and many teachers have told us that they are finally seeing their students achieve at their true potential. Plus the teachers have cut out paper shuffling which used to be a daily chore. Now they focus more on the actual teaching aspect of being an educator.
Don’t take our word for it
We have literally hundreds of unsolicited articles and testimonials that you can see for yourself: http://www.collaborizeclassroom.com/blog/buzz/
We also hear from students on a regular basis: http://www.collaborizeclassroom.com/videos/what-students-are-saying-about-collaborize-classroom
We went even further...
A few months after the initial launch, we took Collaborize Classroom to the next level by creating the groundbreaking Collaborize Classroom Topic Library, a global repository where teachers share their most effective and engaging lessons with other educators around the world. It's like giving teachers access to their most successful peers around the world and it provides a way to recognize and celebrate teachers for their educational contributions, on a global level.

Collaborize Classroom has grown from a few dozen teacher-launched sites at the beginning to over 46,000 sites on 6 continents and growing. It has delivered over 2.6 million individual topic-based lessons to students in just two years, and growing. It is now the go-to source for educators looking for ways to more deeply engage students and improve learning outcomes.
What’s Our Plan?
Everything that Collaborize Classroom is and does has been provided absolutely free of charge to teachers and students everywhere. Our mission is to keep it that way. We also want to make sure that we never have to use ads to support the platform. We have a plan to achieve these goals, while taking it all to the next level. We need your help to make our dream a reality:
We want to insure that Collaborize Classroom will always be available free around the world, while providing a self-funding revenue stream through the development of powerful new features and products. But to do this, we need to keep Collaborize Classroom going and growing in the meantime, and we can do this by implementing a public “Sponsorship” program that will make it possible for us to continue to offer the basic version of the platform to educators around the world for free forever.
How it will work
We plan to use the same model that’s worked for public television and national public radio - periodic public sponsorship drives, until the revenues from product can make Collaborize Classroom self-sufficient. After all, we all benefit from success in education, whether or not we currently have kids in school. Knowing that we’ve created a learning platform that actually works is our motivation for keeping it free of advertising and at no charge for teachers and students.
For as little as $12, you can sponsor a Collaborize Classroom, teacher and students, for an entire year. You can even sponsor an entire school or district with larger contributions. Maybe you know someone who shares our passion for education and has the means to be a really large sponsor? Let them know about our campaign and encourage them to participate.
It’s not that often that something comes along that really works and is motivated by more than a need to provide profits to venture capitalists. We’ve never taken a dime of venture money, and that means it’s up to our community to support this amazing education solution - to keep watering our plant until it’s strong and self-sufficient.
At its core, Collaborize Classroom gives teachers a way to extend their classroom discussions to a structured and private online environment. It transforms students from passive consumers of curriculum into active creators of their learning experience in a collaborative environment. It offers a variety of compelling and intuitive discussion structures for online learning that are designed to support innovative teaching, promote higher-level thinking, and improve learning outcomes.
