- Help prevent cruelty to animals through the operation of a primate sanctuary.

- Educate the public about the need to respect all animals.
Story Book Farm is a place of safety. We offer freedom from fear. We are a place of healing and recovery from trauma. In sanctuary care, we encourage friendships between residents. We encourage exploration and freedom of choice. We give back the ability to make decisions and control events that affect residents' lives. Our human caregivers exercise deep listening skills to help address the residents' wants and needs. We strive for humility and parity and look at each day as a learning opportunity.
We are a not-for-profit registered charity and are funded strictly on donations and receive no government funding.
The farm is located approximately one hour north east of Toronto in the Sunderland area. Currently, we are home to 24 monkeys. Although we are not open to the public we welcome any inquiries and hope you will read about some of the monkeys we are trying to help. Thank you for your interest.
What We Need & What You Get
At this time of year expenses are very high. We need to raise funds in order to provide all of our monkey residents and farm animals with hay, straw, food (monkeys eat a lot of fruit and vegetables daily) and of course enrichment items!!
These monkeys have had a really tough start in life and deserve to have a Happy Holiday and with caring people like you, we can make this happen!
Enrichment items come in many forms; toys, food and environmental. They provide stimulation and the monkeys just love to see what they got in their packages.
We would like to be able to purchase enough items for all of our 25 residents, wrap them up as gifts and give them to the monkeys on Christmas Day.
No donation amount is too small, every little bit helps! :)
Other Ways You Can Help
