ChamberLab -- Tucson's Alt-Classical, DIY Chamber Music Series -- is celebrating its first anniversary with a special concert at Cafe Desta. This concert will feature some of our favorite pieces from the last year, and it will be recorded by Craig Schumacher of Wavelab for a live album.
The show starts at 7:30 and ends at 9:30, with an intermission, and seating will be limited, so please contribute here to reserve your place!
ChamberLab has grown.
ChamberLab is on a mission to tunnel under the wall that separates classical music from every other kind of music in the world. This series started with a bunch of frantic emails and a couple of rehearsals, and has grown with each quarterly concert into something truly wonderful. It's time to step up and show off what we've done, and to make a record of it in the process. This is our victory lap!
It's also a great opportunity for those of you who've missed some of our previous concerts to hear our favorite pieces from the last year. We'll feature music by Chris Black, Benjamin DeGain, Dante Rosano, Marco Rosano (seen in the video above), Tony Rosano, and more ...
The instrumentation is eclectic in the extreme! You can count on bassoons, contrabassoon, violin, cello, piano, double bass, tuba, accordion, trombone, clarinet, flute, piccolo, vibraphone, glass bowls ... we have quite the assortment.
Video of our last concert is available on our YouTube Channel. Audio of our previous shows, and more information about ChamberLab, can be found on our Tumblr. Take a listen to what we've done so far, and be a part of our One-Year Anniversary Celebration!
This show has a budget to meet!
This is our most ambitious ChamberLab concert yet, and here's what we need to make it happen:
- $1000 to pay the musicians -- a new record for us! And by the way, the composers have not yet been paid for these shows! Everything we've made has to gone the talented musicians, giving their time and effort to make this happen!
- $150 to rent some chairs for you to sit in!
- $250 for the recording and mastering.
GRAND TOTAL: $1400
This is just the bottom-line, must-have goal to make this concert work! More is better. More is much better! If we can raise more, we'll be able to hire a videographer for the night, have fancier packaging for the CDs, and maybe even pay the composers for once!
Please consider the "Sustaining Support" contribution level to help us make this concert and this album the best that it can be.
Also, please note that every $5 or $15 added to the admission contribution level for downloads and CDs is seriously appreciated. Ticket sales alone will not likely cover our costs.
NAME YOUR PERK!
Don't see the reward you want? Let us know! Shoot us an email with your idea -- maybe you'd like to be present at a rehearsal, maybe you'd like a T-shirt, maybe something we haven't even thought of -- and if it's possible, we'll add it to the list for you!
We need your support to make this happen!
Again, this is the biggest show we've attempted, and we need your help to succeed! Please treat this Indiegogo campaign as a way not only to get advance tickets -- which is very important to us -- but also as a way to support the series, pay the musicians, and get some great music into the bargain.
Also, consider sharing this campaign with your friends via Facebook and other social sites. We truly appreciate it!
