Celxt Node, the cell phone extension built for the 21st century. Connects to iPhones, Androids and cell phones using Bluetooth.
What is the CelXT Node?
The NODE is an extension for your cellular phone. In the same way that people keep landlines with extension phones throughout their homes, the NODE works as an additional device through which you can answer calls and text messages in addition to making outgoing calls and texts. It connects to your cellular phone through Bluetooth and Wi-Fi technology and notifies you when you are receiving a call or text message – even when your cell phone is on vibrate.
Why you Need the CelXT Node
In the United States alone more then 30% of households are now cell-phone-only households, and this makes it imperative to know where your cell phone is at all times to keep in touch. But when your cell phone’s not in your pocket, it could be anywhere, and most of us have at one time or another missed an important call. With the CelXt NODE, you’ll never miss a call, email or text again!
How the CelXT Node Can Help You
You left your cell phone on vibrate after a meeting and someone is urgently trying to reach you. The NODE will still ring, alerting you to an incoming call.
You can never find where you put your cell phone and are tired of missing calls.
You miss text messages when listening to Pandora or watching Netflix.
You have a habit of leaving your phone downstairs when you’re upstairs, and vice versa.
There’s an emergency at home and you don’t have time to search for you phone.
The NODE provides an incredible convenience so you’ll always know where it is, even when your cell phone is nowhere to be found.
192 K RAM
Touch-Screen Interface – Simply use your finger to tap the icons of your choice, from the Answer-Call icon to the Text-Message icon, and even access your phone’s address book. Plus, you can customize your ring tone, set the volume and more. The icons are intuitive and user-friendly so it’s easy to navigate through all the features of the NODE.
And here's the even COOLER part. We want to take it one step further by equipping the NODE with standard WiFi - in order to increase the range and feature-set of the NODE beyond the normal Bluetooth capabilities.
We want the NODE to detect your already installed WiFi equipment and connect to your cell phone in the most efficient way possible - either directly, ad-hoc, or through your WiFi router or base-station, providing the maximum possible range attainable.
Not to mention the added functionalities that become possible with a WiFi connection - Internet-enabled mini-applications, VOIP capabilities, DLNA connectivity...who knows? Only our imagination is going to be the limiting factor!
And we say "OUR" imagination because that's the plan - to expose the Smartphone API for you to design and upload your own apps to the NODE, allowing for endless possibilities and a whole new ecosystem of NODE functionality.
But...we need YOU to help make the NODE a reality. We've got a great prototype and we're excited to move forward, but there's a lot of work left to do.
Join us! Be the first of a new generation to CUT THE CORD and help launch the CelXt Node into production.
What’s the battery life?
We’ve selected the hardware to be able to operate in extremely low power modes when not in use, as well as take advantage of the power-saving features of BlueTooth, and our own system of Wireless-standby such that we're hoping for up to 3 days of battery life – but your mileage may vary.
How does it affect my cell phone’s battery life?
Any wireless connection to your cell phone will naturally add to the power drain on the device. For now, a good guess would be 5%-10% for the BlueTooth connection, and 10%-15% for a wireless connection.
How do you charge it?
The Node comes with a wall-charger, and uses a standard Micro-USB connector for charging.
Does it come with the dock?
The dock is optional, and we’re considering two different types of docks. One type would be included at no cost and would not charge the device, and the other type would have a pass-through connection so it could use the included charger.
