Saving A Historic Landmark
The historic 16th Street Station is 100 years old and we are celebrating its history while we look to the future uses of this amazing building. The building has been vacant and deteriorating for more than 20 years but it is still elegant. While we need millions of dollars to restore the building, your financial donations can help us celebrate now, and keep the building from further damage.
Help Us Celebrate; Donate Now!
Your donation will help open the Station for a community event on Saturday, September 29 from 2 to 5 p.m. We will have music, kids' activities, food trucks, and tours of the Station with a history exhibit.
The event is free so we need to cover the cost of permits, insurance, porta potties, security. We're holding a raffle, too, with lots of prizes.
The more funds we raise, the more steps we can take to stop the continued vandalism, increase security, and host more community events on site.
Short and Long Term
We are taking steps to develop the front plaza and install fire and life safety measures to assure safe occupancy of the building, but all these things cost money. Until we raise the necessary funding, we need your help to send a message to the vandals that this is not an abandoned property. This is a community asset.
