Rural life has its blessings, but it has its shortcomings too. North Country Sustainability Center, Inc. works with others like ourselves, people who can raise fresh food, make great products, but we can’t sell them because we don’t have the necessary facilities. We need to raise $20,000 or more, to illustrate to other funders that our ideas are sound, and worth supporting. We lost the first buildings because the banks couldn’t see the vision. But we believe you can. Once we do it here, we'll help others do the same thing, using technology, advice and other tools.
By creating a space for dog sports, and using it for 4H exhibitions and animal/horticultural therapies, we start serving our community and building operating income for NCSC. By developing a commercial community kitchen, cannery and micro-creamery, we enable rural families to legally sell their value-added goods, and make it worthwhile for people to travel to our “food hub,” to get fresh food. Our studios, showrooms and theaters will allow small town residents to develop their talents and witness the arts at work, and bring new tools to our youth, so that they have more options for their futures. Our classes in sewing, woodworking, cooking and agriculture will make it possible for people to learn how to better use their resources, creating a healthier future for their families, neighbors and communities.
This is how we built this country, by cooperating. Please donate if you can. Tell others about our project, through new and old means, and keep your eyes open about ways that we can help your neighborhood. Thanks.
