The Stauffer Innovations team is turning to Indiegogo to help us take this innovative new product into full production. We have a proven working prototype--you've just seen it in action. Now all we need to do is generate enough pre-orders to help cover the cost of production molds. Then it will be time to produce the inaugural run of Bud Buttons!
The Bud Button's design is unlike anything you've ever seen. There are a few other magnetic clips out on the market...but they all fall short when it comes to convenience, security, and flexibility. Bud Buttons is, as they say, the better mouse trap. As a backer of our project, you will have front row seat to this exciting manufacturing stage. We will be posting regular updates and pictures on our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/staufferinnovationsllc), as well as here on our Indiegogo page.
Convenience. The key design feature unique to Bud Buttons is its removable "tether" component--the piece that connects the magnetic clip and backer disk together. Having two separate pieces is the greatest advantage to a magnetic clip design...but it can also become its Achilles heel. Two separate pieces means that you can locate the clip anywhere on your clothing. Place one piece on the inside, one on the outside, and you're good to go. But having two separate pieces also means that you could accidentally drop or lose one of them. That's where Bud Buttons provides the answer. Its design combines the flexibility of a two piece clip design with the convenience of a removable tether. Doing something casual? Keep everything connected and just snap Bud Buttons over the edge of your clothing. Need a clip location in the middle of your clothing? Remove the tether and position Bud Buttons wherever you wish.
Security. Bud Buttons utilize the power of neodymium magnets to securely latch onto your clothing, no matter how slippery or tight it might be. The Bud Button's clip was designed to securely attach to your cord, by using a "one way" style center opening. You won't need to worry about the cord freeing itself while you're moving around. By angling the clip tabs in/down, the design ensures that the cord won't come back out through the opening. When you do want to remove the cord, simply loop it back on itself, snap it down through the clip opening a second time, and pull the cord out the side.
Flexibility. The Bud Button's design permits a wide range of uses and applications by including three separate cord openings--the primary center opening, plus two side openings. The center opening is large enough to accommodate a wide range of cord styles...but small enough to keep the splitter (where the cord splits from one strand into two strands) on most style of ear buds from passing through it. This creates a comfortable slack to your ears when a Bud Button is located at the base of your neck. The two side openings on the Bud Button's clip allow the user to loop the cord to take up unwanted slack, or wind the cord around, reducing its length and locking the clip's position on the cord.
Convenience. Security. Flexibility.
The Plan. With a successful campaign here on Indiegogo, we will be able to make final engineering tweaks to the Bud Buttons prototype, have production molds made, and manufacture the inaugural run of Bud Buttons. In order to keep our expenses as low as possible, the production molds will be built in China...but the Bud Buttons product itself will be manufactured in a facility just a few miles from my house. I am very fortunate to have such a wonderful team of business associates, engineers, business mentors, and friends partnering with me on this project. Together with your support we will bring Bud Buttons to the masses!
Thanks so much,
