In the last days we have been facing a threat to our project, we should say that we have anticipated this would happen at one point, on one side we found brave people in the cultural basket to accept 5 Broken Cameras into the educational program, until a journalist picked up that decision and try to make a story. My strategy was to bury the story by saying this is old news. And I feel we have made it, the story wasn't picked up by other journalists. The only threat now is the vice minister of education that will try to reverse the decision that was taken. If at any point he will succeed this would be an outrageous political decision and we will do all the efforts to mediatize it in international and national news. But for now the project is still kicking we have some new reservation to schools in the coming months.
Have a lovely spring wherever you are,
Parliament member is trying to prevent the screening of "Five Broken Cameras" In Israeli high schools.

What we have been doing to bring "5 Broken Cameras" to Israeli Youth
After last year we have screened independently so far with your support in 8 venues and schools; in Nahariya, Qfar Menachem, Gan Shmuel, Jaffa, Jisr a Zarqa and more…
From 2012 we have been focusing on a campaign to be accepted to the ministry of education's cultural basket, which would mean that every Israeli school would be able to ask or organize a screening in his school authorized by the education ministry. Sounds like fantasy, right? Just to remind you, after the Oscar nomination Israeli culture ministry criticized the film and also called filmmakers to "Self-censure" and several government and parliament members spoke against the film. Nevertheless, and against all odds, Thanks to your contribution WE DID IT!
In November 2013 "Five Broken Cameras" entered into the official Cultural basket and was already screened first time in December.
We have set an ambitious goal to find a budget to promote 40 screenings a year from 2014. In order to that we would need more funding. Anat Langer Gal has been working for the last 8 months also to help us to find funding for this ambitious goal , we have bumped into several refusals until now, but that's never stopped us before and there are 6 more pending submissions.
How you can help
If you have any contact of a possible private donor or a fund that would be interested in supporting this program or parts of it please direct them to the film's email: firstname.lastname@example.org
Have a Happy 2014!!
We would like to apologize for the late in sending the perks due to the holiday period. Posters will be first to arrive in a week or so, and the other perks (DVD’s, postcards) will arrive by beginning of Mai. Kindly, Guy Davidi
Thank you very for all your contributions, this has been an amazing period with the Oscar nomination, the Channel 2 broadcast of the film and with more great news to come.
We have a new education ministry, and after the last one will not continue in this position it seems our chances to bring the film in more schools are much better.
We have reached 15,000 USD almost half of our final goal. This sum allows us to look for more funding, to run some pilot screenings in school so we can finalize the educational program. Anat Langer Gal who built in the past the educational program for the Award Winning film “Budrus” is now building our educational program for next autumn with the beginning of the new school year.
In two weeks, we will have a second pilot screening in the north of the country.
I will update you from time to time about the screenings and the reactions of the students.
Thank you again, Guy
