“A small body of determined spirits fired by an unquenchable faith in their mission can alter the course of history.” - Mahatma Ghandi
Rock Hill Yoga L3C will provide accessible yoga to the community of Rock Hill, South Carolina through sliding scale pricing, yoga scholarships, good karma classes, donation based classes, and ways we haven't even dreamed up yet. We will also be hosting fundraising events and charity drives to support good causes.
Why Rock Hill? Rock Hill, SC is the 4th largest city in the Charlotte metropolitan area and the 4th largest city in South Carolina and home of Winthrop University.
Our Story: This summer, Michael brought together two of his students, Gina & Garland, to talk about a project to bring yoga to Rock Hill. He wanted to make yoga accessible and create a community of direct action and charitable giving. Together we came up with a plan to make these things happen and in November we launch Rock Hill Yoga.
To make this happen, RHY decided to fund globally and act locally. Using IndieGoGo we hope to help raise funds to make our plans a reality. After funding through IndieGoGo we will be seeking funds from foundations and other investors using the L3C investment strategies that allow us to qualify as a Program Related Investment or PRI. This allows us to focus on giving yoga rather than on getting people through our door and we look forward to sharing the bliss with everyone we can!

Our initial concept was to create a nonprofit business, but while working on this model we realized that it wasn’t the right fit for us. Boards and committees, the length of time it takes to file and achieve nonprofit status, compliance costs and the complexity of filing felt like a distraction from our mission. It became clear
that we did not just want to open a studio; we wanted to help the community through charity and help bring yoga to any and all who need it regardless of shape, size, age, or income. CLICK HERE to learn more about L3Cs.
If you're interested in investing in our project as a PRI, please contact Garland@RockHillYoga.org we are in the process of filing for L3C and are seeking foundation investments to take this project to the next level.
