We wanted to send you an update on our recent progress with Autom™.
First, for those of you who supported us at a level that included a USB Autom™ figurine, you should have received yours within the last week. (If your’e outside the US, it might take a little longer.) If not, please write back and let us know.
Second, despite some setbacks (more details below), we’re working on getting Autom™ into production so that we can start shipping orders. There were some issues out of our control with partners, but we’re doing our best to keep on track and get your robot to you in the near future.
A little about our challenges: we had a manufacturing and investment partnership lined up and ready to go, but the partner pulled out after the agreement had been made. This led to some reorganization on our part of how we’re getting Autom™ built and shipped this year. We apologize that it’s taken us a bit of time to figure this out, but we had to bring in some additional expertise in product design and find new manufacturing partners. If you have been through this process or know about it, you can understand that it takes time to do these things.
Throughout all of this, however, we have continued to improve the software and the interaction with Autom™, so we’re hoping we’ll be able to ship an even better product to you.
