Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Flashes of Beauty: Megan

(Note to contributors, the prints and coffee table book will be "uncensored" when they arrive)

What is this about?

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month, and to help increase awareness about this horrible disease, Live 105.3's Megan Holiday has teamed up with Steve Gatlin to create a special photo series and short documentary for his Beauty Project.

The Beauty Project is a series of photographs created at night, in public settings incorporating light, motion and the human form.

From October 1st until Midnight on the 31st, this very special crowd-funding campaign will run so friends, families and fans can pledge money towards the breast cancer awareness efforts of the “Keep a Breast Foundation.” Incentives for pledging will include personalized copies of Megan’s Beauty Project images.

What We Need & What You Get

We have decided to set a goal of $5,000 for this campaign. We understand that times are tough but feel that by providing awesome incentives at reasonable pledge amounts we can get there.

And of course, we would LOVE to go far beyond our goal, so spread the word and keep pledging.

Check the column on the right to see the really cool incentives we have created. They start at $10 for a special Twitter shout-out, to a commemorative postcard signed by Megan and Steve, prints of Megan's images from the Beauty Project collection, a coffee table book and more!

- Some of the Beauty Project images were created with a special 3D camera and any of those incentives will also come with 3D glasses for viewing.

- 100% of the net from each pledge will go directly to the “Keep a Breast Foundation.”

The Impact

According to Breast Cancer Society, Inc., Women and men diagnosed with stage 0 breast cancer have a 100 percent chance of survival after treatment. Those diagnosed with stage II have a 98 percent chance; virtually everyone survives this stage for at least five years. After stage II, survival rates drop quickly.

THIS IS WHY EARLY DETECTION AND AWARENESS IS SO IMPORTANT!

Megan and Steve feel that this project is perfectly paired with the "Keep a Breast Foundation" because of their dedication to early detection and awareness through art and music.
