The time for ecstasy has come!
After four years of research and production, the 82-minute documentary BIG JOY: The Adventures of James Broughton is ready for prime time! This campaign will help us launch our festival run, and to augment it with special events to celebrate Big Joy (the film and the emotions) in 20 cities, including (hopefully) one near you.
After a long career as journalist and facilitator, Stephen Silha embarked on The Big Joy Project five years ago. Stephen and Co-Director Eric Slade assembled an amazing team to make the film, and we're also assembling a team to get the film out into the world!
But so many great films don't get seen because they don't get proper publicity and distribution. PLEASE help get this out. The world NEEDS these messages. Cash or FREQUENT FLYER MILES all welcomed!
What We Need & What You Get
Ultimately, we'll need more money than this, but $15,000 will ensure our launch is successful over the coming months. It will help pay for travel, printing, event planning, and getting special talent to our events. James Broughton would turn 100 in November, and we're planning lots of fun special events to celebrate his work and play.
We have a number of great rewards, from Broughton's books to his films to some great t-shirts, bumper stickers, bottles, bells, and greeting cards.
The Impact
This project will help you "Follow your own weird" and get in touch with your own creativity as you learn more about James Broughton's life and work.
And, the world will benefit from people respecting differences and adopting Broughton's message to himself and all of us: "Adventure, not Predicament"
