 The Company

Besto Pesto is Oakland's first and only pesto company. We have been sharing our fresh gourmet vegan pesto sauces since 2007. Our Almond-Cilantro and Basil-Walnut flavors are currently featured at several stores in Oakland and San Jose.

Our Mission 

To provide our community with healthy great tasting alternatives to fast food and corner store junk food. Our vegan pesto sauces have inspired children in our community to eat their raw fruits and veggies and have given families a savory convenient option to prepare with dinner or lunch. Our vegan pesto sauces also provide a small solution to a growing epidimic of chronic diseases in my community and many communities all over the Bay Area.

 The Project/Campaign

The BESTO PESTO MOBILE PROJECT is about self-determination to spread our pesto to more health food stores, grocery stores, school cafeterias, corner stores and communities throughout Oakland and rest of the Bay Area but we need your help to do it.   

Currently we are using Bart and AC Transit bus lines to transport our Besto Pesto flavors. In order to increase our services we need to raise $15,000 for

• a Cargo Van with a refrigerator/freezer and

• 2 bikes with custom packaging to transport our Pesto in a timely efficient manner with minumal to no impact on the environment . 

And there you have it: The Besto Pesto Mobile Project. Bringing Besto Pesto to the people!

The Impact   

A successful BESTO PESTO MOBILE PROJECT will impact the community in the following 5 ways:

1. We will use the Cargo Van to do free snack give-aways at various campuses during after school so children can have an immediate great tasting healthy option before the cornerstore rush. 

2. We will conduct nutrition outreach led by youth interns who will bring information and healthy food to urban communities all over Oakland.

3. We will be able to make deliveries of the Besto Pesto to stores, school cafeterias, all over Oakland and the rest of the beautiful Bay Area, creating an immediate positive impact on the local economy. 

4. With our van running on bio diesel fuel and with the purchase of two bikes with custom packaging to transport sample and orders to closer clientele, our Besto Pesto will have minimal impact on the environment. 

5. With our new logo wrapped around the van we will be a positive, bright, and bold community presence wherever we go in Oakland and the rest of the Bay Area. 

What We Need & What You Get

We need at least $15,000 to use as follows:

$8000 to purchase the van, 

$1000 to change it to bio fuel, 

$1000 for a refrigerator unit inside the van, 

$2000 for the ad wrap on the van,  

$1500 for each bike.

All contributions to the BESTO PESTO MOBILE PROJECT will be rewarded with wonderful perks like
