*** THIS IS A 12 DAY CAMPAIGN ***
WHAT IS 'BEAUTIFUL RELICS'?
Beautiful Relics will be a fiction short film (approx 15mins).
On a day out together in London, 20 year old Anya digs up the mysteries, loves and secrets of her Grandmother's own youth, and discovers they are inseparably tied to the city's own troublesome past.
At it's core, the film will show the heartfelt development of the relationship shared by Anya and her Grandmother. Initiallly the pair share very little in common, and when we join them, Anya has very little time for Evie's doddering ways. However as the story unfolds we discover the dark, unsettling occurances in Evie's past, and view them all through the eyes of Anya, who struggles to make sense of her grandmother's incomplete memories and diminishing grasp on reality.
We are a group of passionate filmmakers looking for a helping hand in bringing this cinematic story to life on screen.
We are already affiliated with the Basingstoke Multicultural Forum and the famous Troubadour Cafe and Club in London. The Troubadour has a rich multicultural and musical history and we'll be filming our climatic scene there for those associations.
SOME OF THE FILM'S TOPICS
There are several key topics covered in the film that we believe to hold real value and would like to do our very best to promote. Namely Dementia and awareness of racism. These themes are ever-present in the film, and we have affiliated with various charities in the hope that we can do as much as possible to raise awareness in those areas.
We will be fully supporting these issues throughout our campaign and festival circuit next year. Please see our website - beautifulrelics.com - for more details on our affiliations.
WHAT WE NEED & WHY WE NEED IT
Beautiful Relics is an ambitious micro-budget film. We already have half our budget but need that same amount again - another $8000/£5000 - in order to pay for all the things we simply can't get for free - like insurance, food and transport for the cast, crew and equipment, location fees, film developing costs and other post-production processes, and more. The more we raise the better we can make the film!
We have a great set of perks available in return for your contribution. If you have something in mind we haven't listed let us know, perhaps we can make it happen...
