Beasley Skateboard Park Development Fund

The Hamilton Skateboard Assembly is raising funds for a new concrete surface at Beasley Skateboard Park.

Beasley Skateboard Park is a Canadian Skateboard Heritage site. Since the late seventies or early eighties skateboarders have shredded the Beasley Bowl in downtown Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The smoothly inclined bowl was originally designed as a summer wading pool for kids, but was perfect for skateboarders as well. In 1991 the city of Hamilton decided to build a small skateboard park around the Beasley bowl, and since 1992 the local skateboarders have had Ontario's longest running annual skateboard contest at Beasley Park. For the 10th annual contest, we formed the Hamilton Skateboard Assembly in order to give a voice to the skateboarders of Hamilton. This year we will be holding the 20th annual Hamilton Sk8 Jam at Beasley Park

The concrete surface at Beasley Park, poured in the early 1990's, is in a sad state of disrepair and needs to be replaced. Over the last twenty years, large cracks and frost heaves have made the concrete rough and all but unskateable. The city has contributed a new grind rail and a couple of jersey barriers to the park, but really needs financial help to give the park the new surface it needs and deserves.

The City of Hamilton has slated a resurfacing for the park, possibly, in 2016. Our goal is to make sure this happens, and to make it happen SOONER rather than later.

Currently, The Hamilton Skateboard Assembly, in conjuction with the Beasley Neighbourhood Association and the City of Hamilton’s Adopt-A-Park program have set up The Beasley Skatepark Development Fund to help speed up the process and assist the city on a financial level.

Your donations here will go to the Beasley Skateboard Park Development Fund. This fund will be used to offset the city's costs for the resurfacing and help ensure the project goes forward ahead of the current 2016 date. The city will have no reason to delay once the funding is secured for Beasley. We have the full support of the City Councilman for our ward, the city's Adopt-A-Park program and the Beasley Neighbourhood Association, who are our partners in caring for Beasley Park through the city's Adopt-A-Park program.

Thank you for your support!
