a short film
When a young gay man has unprotected sex without revealing his HIV status, guilt propels him down a rabbit hole of regret and surreal manifestations of his past.
Writer Brandt Miller and director Sean Devaney began creating BARE in January 2011. Twelve months later we have assembled an amazing cast and crew to capture hours of evocative footage. Now, we need YOUR support to realize the film's vision through post-production.
The SubjectIn creating BARE, we want to bring the subject of HIV front and center. With a new generation coming of age post-AIDS crisis, the conversation has quieted and a gulf has formed. A sense of distance and stigma has been bred. We don't seek to provide answers, but instead, to shine a light on the issue, to begin a discourse, in a dramatic and unique way.
