"Extreme the Rush Track 3D" is the 4x4 Offroad Augmented Reality (AR) Racing experience for PC and mobile iOS and Android platforms. Development of the AR racing game created by modifying an ex-Gamesisting racing game, using an AR infrastructure that we developedfor use with the XNA game development platform. In "Extreme the Rush Track 3D", you interact in real time at real-world locations with 3D Augmented Reality characters and situations.
Augmented Reality (AR) makes it possible to combine the physical and the virtual by displaying virtual images and sounds overlaid on the physical world, and can allow players to interact by manipulating existing real world objects. AR enables a new class of games that move game play into the physical environment . AR can make the physical environment an integral part of the game, supporting multi-player experiences, enabling direct spatial interaction, and maintaining the real-world context of game play. One way of advancing AR gaming is to explore new development tools and techniques for game interaction.
Using GPS and Augmented Reality technologies your racing track is populated with 3D interactive characters and scenarios. Each player will experience the game as unique, one-of-a-kind story. Game design triggers help the game learn not only where your closest cars mountain race track is, but what locations matter to you most. No two players will every experience the same game twice.
In this project, we present a novel multi-player AR racing game, emphasizing AR interaction techniques . We created our game by extensively modifying the existing XNA Racing Game, using an AR gaming platform that we are currently developing. We begin by describing our goals for developing our AR racing game. We then introduce the architecture for the game, including its software, user interface, and hardware, describe the game play, and discuss preliminary sponsors feedback. We finish by presenting our conclusions and ongoing and future work.
We've worked hard on the game, which supports the creation of AR Augmented Reality, Mixed Reality, Gaming, Virtual Reality,applications and games in a managed code environment, but it’s not finished! New features need to be developed. Thanks for your help!
What are the funds for ?
The funds we are hoping to raise will allow us to develop the game and make major improvements. These improvements are absolutely crucial to help the game be an international success, while the current version of XNA does not support networking, the next version will, so we will need to determine what additional networking support, if any, to include. We are continuing to develop the game, both to explore AR gaming further and to test our infrastructure as we extend it.
