A nod to the classic 80's horror genre, ATV Stalker will be shot with a strong film noir fell. In the small town of Hidden Valley Washington ATV racing is more than a sport, it's a way of life. Taking advantage of this fact the town's corrupt mayor has begun fixing the races for a large profit and hence giving him the financial leverage to pay the police force to turn a blind eye. When Hidden Valley's star racer, Michael Cunningham, refuses to lose the State championships for the mayor, he is brutally murdered in front of his mechanic Bobby Raccoon. Turning to the only honest person in law enforcement left in town, game warden Cliff, Bobby seeks to find how far the mayor's arm stretches in Hidden Valley. Cliff is now thrust into a world of bribery, gambling, drugs and murder. As Cliff delves deeper into the corruption, his investigation shifts. The mayor's circle of thugs are being picked off one by one by a mysterious ATV rider dressed in black; the ATV Stalker.
The idea behind ATV Stalker came about as a random fluke. About four years ago producer Bret MacDonald gave writer/director Roberto Malano a lift to the DMV where Roberto was taking his driver's license test. Bored while waiting, Bret grabbed a handful of pamphlets at the front counter and began skimming through them to pass time. One in particular caught his attention. The cover of the pamphlet had the title " ATV SAFETY " written in bold with a man in a black leather suit and black helmet jumping through the page. The man in black looked so menacing that Bret grabbed a black pen and crossed out the word " SAFETY " and replaced it with the word " STALKER " on a dozen of pamphlets and left them on the front counter. He kept one to show Roberto on the way home. A huge horror fan, Roberto took one look at the pamphlet and said " we need to make a movie about this guy ". From there the ATV Stalker was born.
Both film school graduates, Bret and Roberto put together a team of creative people that match their passion and devotion to film. Many of whom have worked with Bret Roberto on past project, where over the years they have built an impressive inventory of professional equipment to help get their projects off the ground. For this specific project the team even went out and bought an old three wheeler for the Stalker to drive and a jeep for the game warden who is the films protagonist. However to have it realized as a feature length film, they need your help!
WHAT WE NEED AND WHAT YOU GET
ATV Stalker will be filmed on a 360 acre plot of heavily forested land that the producers have been granted full access to for the complete duration of filming. While this land is an amazing setting for an eerie horror film, it creates many logistical challenges. All equipment used for filming, especially the lights, depend heavily on generators. Feeding and lodging the cast and crew is also an expensive part of the shooting in a remote northern location. The vast majority of money invested by you in the film will help us tackle these obstacles.
Luckily our team is very creative, and in return can offer you fantastic perks for your participation in the production of ATV Stalker. These include among many the official ATV Stalker t-shirt, movie posters, props from the film, autographed DVDs, an invitation on the set of ATV Stalker and your name in the credits of the film.
Like many indie projects, we need your help to spread the word on ATV Stalker. Please join us on Facebook and start sharing the news; ATV Stalker will be Stalking Soon.
