MORE THAN A STEP COUNTER
3D BODY TRACKING
With a single on-wrist device, Atlas can track your body on the x-, y- and z-axes. It’s so precise, it can tell the difference between push-ups and triangle push-ups, bicep curls and alternating bicep curls and squats versus dead lifts. Atlas logs your workout with almost zero user action and keeps track of your heart rate so you can see how each movement affects your body.
YOUR WORK OUT, ON DISPLAY
With Atlas, there’s no need to take your phone to the gym anymore. The on-wrist display gives you live feedback on the type, speed and quality of your exercises as you’re working out.
You can use that real-time feedback to instantly see your progress and keep track of how many miles you ran, how many laps you swam and how much weight you benched. Atlas helps you anticipate plateaus and find what makes you stronger, faster.
LEARNING FITNESS TRACKER
Atlas can also learn new exercises you teach it. The analytic engine built into Atlas learns your movements, so no matter what movements your workout consists of, Atlas can track them and turn it into data that can help you achieve your goals.
The technology inside Atlas adds an incredible amount of context to your workout. Not only do you have a complete digital log of your specific exercises, Atlas enables you to see how your body is affected. You can see how rest affects each exercise, how quickly your heart recovers, the quality of your form and more. Plus, you can measure your explosiveness, find your max thrust and improve your workouts. The Atlas platform builds on a community of data that will enable everyone to learn the different benefits of each exercise routine.
A NEW WAY TO LOOK AT YOUR WORKOUT
Atlas is packed with a suite of inertial sensors, similar to those used in smartphones. The Atlas sensors see your movement in a 3D trajectory and identify the specific motion fingerprint of each exercise you’re doing. Atlas then sifts through a sea of data and picks out the pearls that are valuable to you.
A WORLD OF DATA BEHIND YOU
We collected and calibrated data on the most popular exercises and their proper form from professional trainers and other exercise gurus. The Atlas comes preloaded with that community of data so you can easily compare your workout and analyze your form.
The Atlas app experience lets you dive deeper into your workout data. It will highlight what muscle groups you’ve focused on recently and suggest areas to focus on next. To add a little fun to your workout, you can challenge friends within the Atlas community and compare yourself to fitness professionals around the world.
APPS AND APPLICATIONS
Atlas is compatible with your favorite fitness apps, including MapMyFitness and Fitocracy. When you leave the gym, all of your hard-earned workout data gets synced with your favorite app. If you don’t have a favorite app yet, Atlas is built on an open API so you can build your own amazing applications to use with the wristband.
TRACKER FOR TRAINERS
The Atlas platform enables a new level of integration with personal trainers, allowing you to create custom routines and track clients’ progress. With Atlas, you can recycle the paper journals, forget about manually entering results, get data that provides deeper insight into each client’s biomechanics and deliver the next generation of personalized workout coaching. You can even sync the Atlas data to your favorite relationship platform. Atlas lets you focus on motivation and the development of your trainer-client relationship.
WHERE WE ARE
Over the last 12 months we have designed and built dozens of prototypes. The final Atlas design has been established and we’re ready to start manufacturing to scale.
We have put our working prototypes in the field and are actively collecting data and testing the analytical platform with fitness communities. We have also recruited professional trainers and exercise gurus to contribute their form and insights in order to create a gold standard of proper exercise forms.
WHERE WE'VE BEEN
The idea for Atlas was seeded when Peter, our CEO, developed a motivational platform for students and faculty at Johns Hopkins to lose weight and gain muscle. He realized how valuable tracking and analyzing data was; yet he was frustrated by the lack of adequate solutions. Mike, our CTO, had a similar experience but in a different context. At Philips Healthcare, he learned how data could be used to literally save lives when designing circuitry for defibrillators.
We've built three generations of prototypes and our last production consisted of 110 units. Our prototyping and development process has been very hands on and involves the local fitness community because we know it’s important to stay as close to the problem in the real world as possible.
If three (3) people contribute any amount because of your referral, we'll give you an Atlas workout jersey. Please note: you must use your personal Indiegogo referral link (shown just below the video on the campaign page).
All referrals to date count so check your stats and help us knock this out of the park!
WHO WE ARE
The co-founders of Atlas are Peter, a master’s graduate from Johns Hopkins University with a degree in biomedical engineering, and Mike, who previously worked at Philips Healthcare, where he designed circuitry for defibrillators as a development engineer. The rest of the Atlas team includes a software developer and embeddable technology specialist, an industrial designer, a mechanical engineer, a data scientist and Blu—our company dog.
WHO WE'RE WORKING WITH
Atlas Wearables is a Techstars company. Techstars is a mentorship-driven startup accelerator with locations in Boston, Boulder, Chicago, New York City, Seattle, London and Austin.
Dragon Innovation works with innovators to launch hardware products and scale companies. Dragon's client roster includes: Coin, MakerBot, LIFX, PerkinElmer, Scout, Romotive, Sifteo, Orbotix and over 100 additional companies paving the road for how new technology gets made. The team at Dragon Innovation has reviewed the design, manufacturability, reliability and cost of Atlas and helped us determine that we can manufacture the wristband if our minimum funding level is reached.
WHO WE NEED TO THANK
A lot of people in the fitness community have helped us reach this point and we want to thank them.
Thank you Corina F. and CampGladiator, Michael S. at Austin Fit Clinic, Jess M. at Stronghorn Fitness, Taylor B. at 5 Fitness, James and Marcus.

We are working on various options for verification of your service, as we wish to keep your private information secure. Verification will be done after the campaign finishes and before the product ships in December. We will advise with an update as soon as we've selected a system.
While we would love to cover non-US military, we will have to evaluate on a case-by-case basis. Please send us an email at email@example.com and tell us how military service is generally verified in your country. If it is relatively easy and inexpensive to verify your service, we will likely adopt it but cannot make any guarantees at this time.
If you buy with the Veteran's Discount and we are unable to verify your service, you will be notified and will need to add $10 to your order.: Overview | Technology | How It Works | Creation Process | Perks | Team
