Atlanta Music Project
Founded in 2010, the Atlanta Music Project (AMP) provides intense music education for underserved youth right in their neighborhood. AMP is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and all donations, including those going towards this fundraiser, are tax-deductible.
AMP currently runs three after-school youth orchestra sites in inner-city Atlanta, providing 110 students with over 300 hours of stellar music instruction and performance opportunities annually. Teaching Artists, instruments, classes and performance opportunities are all provided free-of-charge.

AMP Launches AMPlify
This fall, AMP will expand to launch AMPlify, the all-choral program of the Atlanta Music Project!
AMPlify will give 50 elementary school students in Atlanta's Mechanicsville neighborhood the opportunity to:
- Be a part of an intense after-school choral program
- Learn to read and write music, develop vocal technique
- Perform choral concerts all over Metro Atlanta
- Become role models for their peers, families and communities
AMPlify will be led by Aisha Bowden. Aisha is an award-winning choir director and music educator who spent over ten years teaching in inner-city D.C. and Atlanta. A 2012 graduate of the Sistema Fellows Program, which included a 5-week residency in Venezuela to study El Sistema, Aisha also spent two years as the Atlanta Music Project's Choral Teaching Artist. Aisha holds a Bachelor of Music Education, with a minor in Piano Performance, from Howard University (HU!).
WHAT WE NEED
We need to raise $20,000 to launch! All donations are tax-deductible and will go towards the following program costs for AMPlify:
- One digital piano
- Sheet music
- Audio equipment
- Teaching Artist fees
A high-performing, 50-member strong children's choir in the Mechanicsville community of Southwest Atlanta.
Through AMPlify's rigorous training and public performances, our students will further develop the following character traits: grit, self-control, zest, social intelligence, gratitude, optimism, and curiosity (we'll be evaluating this).
Increased academic engagement and performance (we'll also be evaluating this).
Engaged families and communities. AMPlify will be the pride and joy of the neighborhood.
