Ashlyn's Camp Painless But Hopeful

Camp Painless But Hopeful is a camp designated for families who live with Congenital Insensitivity to Pain. Congenital Insensitivity to Pain is a rare, dangerous genetic condition where a person is unable to feel pain and recognize necessary pain signals to alert them that something may be wrong. There is no cure. My daughter has the condition. She had a dream one night that we started a camp for families like us and I knew instantly what I was meant to do. After a lot of hard work and research, my daughter's dream came true. We founded Camp Painless But Hopeful. Camp Painless But Hopeful is a family oriented camp so the whole family participates. We want to bring parents, siblings and the ones who cannot feel pain all together to let them know that they are not alone in their painless journey through life.  In November 2011, we held our first camp. We united 8 families from all over the US and Canada. It was a life changing experience and priceless memories were made. Our goal is to have camp every year so our families can grow up together and have something to look forward to. We are getting ready for our 2nd annual camp and need to raise money to cover the camp's liability insurance policy, activites costs, and the camp entry fees for the ones with the condition. We are very excited that our camp numbers have doubled since our pilot year! But in turn, we need more funding. Your donation will bring many smiles and unforgettable memories to our camp family.
