Art rock band Half Past Four needs your help!

Our Story

Half Past Four is a modern art rock band in the truest sense. We enjoy creating sophisticated compositions that merge many genres and styles. As people, we are a unique mix of diverse musical personalities, cultural backgrounds and life experiences. Two of our five members were raised in Israel and two more in Russia. All four have folk and formal classical music training. The fifth is our lead singer, a third generation Canadian, who brings a strong professional background in pop/rock/jazz, cabaret as well as being trained in opera. Our fresh, original approach to songwriting (in the context of modern musical styles) makes us stand out from other bands!!

Over the past 5 years we have established our sound and initiated a relationship with an international audience base. Our goal for this new album is both to explore and refine our sound and, to trigger significant audience growth. We have a lot of "buzz" happening and we want to keep it growing!!

The Impact

Our community is a combination of the large international group of progressive/art rock fans and a broader music set that loves rock and jazz fusions. Our project will impact this multi-level community by not only strengthening our ties with this great global audience, but, because of this strengthening, begin to break into the consciousness of the mainstream rock/pop audience so that many more people will access and enjoy our music. 

This project will impact the buzz we have created by our own hard work, to solidify and multiply our relationships and to build on the reputation that we have grown throughout the last five years. It will inspire and empower us to continue our exploration of composition, expression, range and technical expertise in our music.

What We Need

We need $8,000 to make this dream a reality!

Here's how it breaks down:

• $2,000 will go to recording at Canterbury Studio in Toronto ($900 per day plus tax)
  
• $4,000 will go to mixing and mastering at Victory Drive Recordings in Toronto (flat fee)
  
• $2,000 will go to manufacturing and duplication (based on quote from IndiePool)
  

Any extra $$ over our goal will go toward the artwork for the album and further manufacturing costs.

Even if we don't reach our goal, every penny we do receive will go into the recording of the album.
