An Oasis of Healing

Aloha,

My name is Ikelene. This campaign was put together by friends and fellow volunteers. I am humbled by this whole experience. I have dedicated my whole life to fundraising, charity work, and end of life services. I never dreamed of a day when there would be such an outpouring of support for my needs. A lifetime of undiagnosed systemic lupus has meant years of medications that masked the symptoms and damaged my body. I even had my large intestine removed. I jokingly call myself "Gutless Wonder". Nothing short of a miracle resulted in my diagnosis just a few months ago. Unfortunately I am losing my hearing and one of the medications I am on could cause vision loss in as little as six months. My kidneys and liver are also under attack. I decided to seek alternative treatment. An Oasis of Healing has been the only alternative treatment center to accept my request. They believe I can be healed in approximately four weeks. Treatment is expensive, but highly effective. I just want to get back to giving back. Any contribution will go to helping more than one woman get well. It will help me help others.

Treatment can range from $2,800 - $4,500 per week

Lodging (depending on how soon our goal is reached and availability ) $1,500- $2,500 for a month

Car Rental $850- $1,000 for a month

Round Trip Air Fair for two (a companion is recommended) approximately $1,000

Estimated living expenses approximately $1,000.

This is a total of only $22,500 in the most expensive scenario, but all donations not used to heal me will go towards healing others. I truly hope to exceed this goal, so that we can make a difference in the lives of others who need treatment and support. This is not just about me.

The Impact

This is a section that has limitless potential if we all come together. The donations are about getting me well so I can get on about helping others. This is about shedding light on alternatives to surgeries, and prescription drugs. It's community at its finest. We all deserve to be supported and sometimes that just means giving someone a voice.
